Oh come on people, Kirk Hammet isnt that great and your trying to make him out to be better than legendary Angus Young of the legendary band AC/DC when all Hammet is a little faster..

Steven's drumming made the band; he made a big musical difference. His sense of swing was the push and pull that gave those songs their feel, afterwards, nothing worked.

I don't know who to vote for on this one... but I think Eric Clapton is a little better although SRV is a tad faster...

Well, as you used the argument: "listen to thunderstruck" (which is a preety easy song) I think I should recommend you to listen to The Four Horsemen. Even if youre not convinced that hammet is better (youll be after listening to that song) its still a great song
About Clapton VS SRV, clapton is better... hes one of the most creative guitarrists ever. He can create like 50 different licks out of 4 notes

i dont really get that "solo".... in my mind it isnt a solo... same as Think About You... i think of them more like something that just goes with the music.. kinda like a little lead part in the rythm, but no real outstanding solo...

I'm a newbie on guitar and I wonder where I can find the best tabs for GN'R songs? And any suggestions on what songs I should start with would be nice?

No way.
Actually that's the first lead bit I learnt. (Or maybe the second, after that La Bamba intro).
(Although I must admit, it's a bitch to perfect... SCOM that is.)

Well the best tabs, in my opinion, are always found in the official tab books (check out the likes of Amazon etc. if you can't find them on the shelf at a local store), but there are limitless internet sites where people post their own interpretations of tabs eg.
www.guitarnotes.com
. If you use these tabs, best to check out a few different ones for each song you are trying to learn, as there is no guarantee that they are all 100% correct.
If you're just starting on guitar, the likes of Patience or Knocking on Heaven's Door are good introductions to the GNR catalogue... I wouldn't advise jumpting straight in and trying to play Appetite for Destruction stuff etc. if you're a beginner; have to crawl before you walk!

www.power-tab.net/
will help you it's a good program and it'll play through it with you.
Get the tabs from
http://www.powertabs.net/
You could try starting with the rhythm stuff from 'Don't Cry' that's pretty simple.
