Aerosmith/Crue play 5 days after GNR at the target center, tickets go on sale this saturday. Does anyone think that could cost GNR some ticket sales?

Well it looks like the Aerosmith show starts at $125 so I doubt too many people will be going to both.

No, it STARTS at $23, up to $123? Wich kinda makes me wish I could stay in Minneapolis for an extra week, so I could go to both. The Aerosmith/Crue show here is like $250 for good seats, lol

Also, although Aerosmith is cheaper, Motley Crue was JUST there....so who knows. I don't think it will really affect things that much. a couple hundred people at most, which in the scope of 10,000 isn't all that many. Also, Gn'R has the advantage of being on a weekend.

I would consider the show a HUGE success if they can get 10,000 there for GNR.  That would be awesome

Oh hell yeah, That would be great, I'm guessing for this show, it'll be about 3/4ths full, which still is a sucessful show bussiness wise...so i'm guessing like 7,000, which is pretty damn good still.

lol, not that I care, as long as the show happens and I'm right in front, I could goive a shit as to how many people are behind me Wink

Yeah, they got about 7000-8000 in 02, with much cheaper ticker prices. I don't care who is there either, I just want it to sell well so we don't get on of those convienient "reschuled date TBA".

I am a dork and did a little math.  Unfortunately I don't know what the floor would hold as GA.  But in 02, the floor was full (they had reserved seats), the lower reserved was full maybe 80%, and the upper deck was about 1/3 fulll....and the estimates, depending on who you ask or what you read, put the attended between 6500 and 8000....I think max at the target center when there is no behind the stage seating is around 12-13k.  As the one poser said, I thought it was about 3/4 full in 02.

Based on the math I did, I think the lower reserved fits about 4000-5000. So if they sell that out, and get a decent floor crowd and maybe 1000 in the upper deck, they could hit the 6000- 7000 mark again, which would be a pretty profitable crowd I'd imagine. Its tough to tell how this show is really selling, because there is no way to know really how many floor tickets have been sold so far. You can still get "decent" lower reserved seats.  All the people who i know that are going, are all getting reserved seats as they don't wanna mess with the floor.

So did anyone else buy their tickets from the official site? I know this has been brought up in other threads, but tickets.com seem to have no clue as to whats going on.

I got mine the night they went on sale from gnr.com, Section 129, row Q. I also believe I've got two tickets in Section 110, row F for sale also, but I'm not sure on those yet.

I think the biggest problem is the ticket price.  Way too much for a band that has not put out a new album since the last century  rant  They are probably hoping that concert sales will go up when(if) Chinese Democracy is released.

I think almost everyone that has ordered tickets (for any of the shows) via gunsnroses/tickets.com has been wondering the same thing.   Undecided

And what is the "Fan Club" that we get a free 90 day membership for?  Anyone see anything about that?

I order my Tickets via gnr.com too.  I haven't heard a thing about the "fan club".  I think it would be kick ass if we someone get CD in our hands a day or two before it hits the stores....fancy dreaming...

As far as recieving the tickets, that is a concern of mine too...I know nothing of this tickets.com thing.  I do have a phone number to call and harass them if I do not get my tickets by mid Nov.

Yeah, the last couple days sales have picked up, and least the reserved seating.  I sure hope the floor is selling well....It would look silly to have an arena full in the stands, and a few hundred people on the floor.

I think it is a dumb way to do the pricing.  The younger fans are more likely to want GA admission tickets, but they have less money to spend.  At an arena like Target Center, General Admissions tickets should be less than reserved seating

Agreed.  There are some young GNR fans out there no doubt, but most of the diehards are going to be older and want the comfort of an asign seat, at least in these parts. I have no problem with the ticket prices, but I am GNR rube and have a good job, I am just concerned about the casual fan.  I would not pay this much to see a band that I am not utterly fancied about. Pleeease MN, buy more tickets, I neeeed this show to happen!!
