Alice in chains would be awesome. Cool

While this would be my first choice. Honestly, Alice is a little too big a name IMO.

Doubt they'd do it, but it would be my number one choice.

they aren't a bigger name than Guns N' Roses.  They would make a great opening act.

Bach does the job well too.   I wouldn't mind seeing him on the tour again.

i wasn't saying they were but I think they are too big to open for anyone really. Just an opinion though. Its not intended as a slight to Guns.

Agreed.

'Black Gives Way To Blue' is the best rock album of 2009, IMO. It would be incredible if these guys were to open for GN'R.

Yep. Agree here.

A question: Do you guys think that they would do it? More to the point do you think AIC is too big to open for Guns?

I feel they are but i don't keep up with music like some on here may. Just curious?

I don't think Alice In Chains would have any problem opening up for Guns. And no, I don't think they are regarded by most as being "too big to open for Guns."

There may be some AIC diehards who feel this way, but the majority certainly wouldn't.

I've got to be honest and say I can't remember the last time I enjoyed an Opening act -- Just wasting time waiting for GNR.
Actually I take that back -- Skid Row in 91' was superb! yes

If they were to go with some of the bigger Canadian bands out there right now, my vote would be Billy Talent, Three Days Grace, IllScarlett or perhaps Default.

I know Billy Talent and IllScarlett both released CDs this year and our free during the months of January and February.  Not a huge fan of either band (though the drummer in my band's brother is the lead guitarist in IllSarlett), they'd both be a good choice in terms of draw and sound.  Bill Talent I know is huge in Europe and Canada, though not well known elsewhere.

Check 'em out:

http://www.myspace.com/billytalent (Rusted From the Rain is a good song to check out)

Cheers,

Andrew

illScarlett would be doable

Billy Talent is too big in Canada at this point.

Agreed. Billy Talent in the US and Europe would be great though. They are fine people and a great band

Try Honesty is still my favorite Billy Talent song. Was a fan of theirs back a few years ago...
