$75,000 for a guitar from some dude in Nazareth?  For that much... he better hand deliver and tune it for me.  Shit I wouldn't even pay $75 for that.  I wouldn't pay that much if it belonged to Slash and HE hand delivered it.  I sure as shit would love to hear those reel to reels though.

arrrgh. Imagine if that November Rain is one we haven't heard before. Or a crisper, cleaner version.

This is priceless material that needs to get out. The listing seems to imply that the purchaser isn't supposed to distribute mp3s of it.

I better not be wondering about this for years.  nervous

These are probably just the demos that everyone has already. In any case I'm not paying $75,000 to find out.

That looks to be the case - the same demos that everyone already has.

Or just similar/the same mixes that ended up on AFD anyway.  And I don't see the concert mentioned in the title listed anywhere in the auction.  Added to which, I'm fairly sure that concert is already available on bootlegs?  GnronTour would suggest as much, anyway.

Yes, it's already bootlegged, but the soundboard isn't out there yet.

With that request, the A&R rep flew directly to Scotland with rough-cut cassette tapes (which Manny still holds today), that includes the band performing ??live @ the Roxy? on 3/28/86.   He met with Manny to recruit his participation in the project. Manny?s initial response was that he thought the cassette tapes? sound and production were of insufficient quality and he would need to work with the band in a live studio setting to develop their full potential.

I don't think the recordings are live material.

Quoted from 'The Story of Manny and GnR'
Quote
YOU ARE VIEWING THE AUCTION OF (3) Master Tapes of one of the world?s most infamous rock and roll bands: (2-track recordings ? live straight to stereo mix with no overdubs or multi-tracks ? see attached box covers). These original master tapes currently in Manny?s possession were produced at Sound City Studios during sessions on June 2-4, 1986 (pre-signing their major record deal) these also were the tapes that presumably were presented to the band?s label to secure their multi-million dollar status. These tapes were commonly referred to as ?The Manny Demos?.

Plus the dates on the 3 tapes are 6-4-86 on 2 & 6-5-86 on 1

Quoted from 'The Story of Manny and GnR'
Quote
the A&R rep flew directly to Scotland with rough-cut cassette tapes (which Manny still holds today), that includes the band performing ??live @ the Roxy? on 3/28/86.? ?He met with Manny to recruit his participation in the project. Manny?s initial response was that he thought the cassette tapes? sound and production were of insufficient quality and he would need to work with the band in a live studio setting to develop their full potential. Recognizing Manny?s qualifications for the project, the A&R director persisted and convinced Manny to fly to LA to experience first-hand the sound that built the band?s local reputation and craft their talent into a commercial success.

So based on this I assume that these are studio recordings done in June 1986, however it does seem as though Manny does still have a recording of the Roxy on 3/28/86, but does not appear to be part of this auction.

Anyway there is only one guitar I would pay anywhere near that amount for.

I noticed that there is "Nice Boys" takes 1, 2 and 3 listed.? I have only heard one "Nice Boys" demo, which starts out with Axl saying "No, we're not!"? which is likely one of those three takes.? I guess another one of the takes is probably the Live Like A Suicide version without the crowd noise.? Maybe the 3rd version is something that we haven't heard?

And gnrontour.com lists a SBD recording for 03/28/86 but I haven't ever seen that anywhere in any form.

Did you see that - someone has bought another auction by this guy for a 1969 Les Paul Custom plus some gunners masters.  They used the buy it now function and paid $189,000 for this.? You couldn't think it was the guy selling it just playing around because the final auction fees on something that price would be pretty huge.

Who would pay that?Huh
