Title: Favorite Movie Soundtracks
Post by: Lady Livin on September 27, 2004, 01:52:55 PM
do any of you guys have a certain favorite soundtrack? it doesn't matter if it's not rock n' roll, but i would assume that's what's basically preferred on here. one movie that just amazed me at how great their music selection was was detroit rock city. i could watch that damn thing with everyone else's voices on mute except for the background music, and i'd be satisifed.

and of course, the soundtrack reflects what was featured. pantera's "cat scratch fever" cover was killer, but i still sort of wish it was nuge's.

Tales From The Crypt - Demon Night
the best soundtrax IMO, it's got

Pantera - Cemetary Gates (demon night edit)
Ministry - Tonight We Murder
Megadeth - Diadems
Machinehead - Demon Night
Melvins - Instant Larry
Biohazerd - ???
Seputura - Polica
Rollins Band - ???
Filter - Hey Man Nice Shot? (THE...best song around, it's about Kurt Cobain n' has the same riff as CHI-DEM)
N'
GraveDiggers - 1800 Suicide.

The Crow soundtrax are unreal to, all 3 are fuckin' cool, even though the 3rd flick was a major let down, the album ruled.

The Last Action Hero soundtrax is pretty cool, the movie score has ol' Buckethead in it to with Micheal Kamen!! : ok:

Quinton Tarintino soundtrax are always a treat, and leaves me with the ultimate one..............drum roll.............

Natural Born Killers, this is the movie translated onto CD, no shit, Trent Reznor produced it n' arranged the whole bloody thing, i dont know half the shit on it either, it's all the sound score from the movie, only thing that pissed me off is that it didnt have Rage Against The Machine, it was used when Micky Knocks first started blowing the cops away in prison...

I highly recomend it to all : ok: : ok:

oh, n' the Forest Gump n' Good Morning Veitnam are good for all the old stuff :peace:

Plus, i wasnt interested in it until i read the trax list...
The Jack Ass soundtrax, it's mad as  :hihi:

The Blade Runner soundtrack by Vangelis is amazing, it's by far my favorite. And it's really cool that they included the "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.." -bit by Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer), IMO those are some of the most classic lines in movie history.

Requiem for a dream, scored? by Clint Mansell.
Very moody, dark, sad. Very "something really bad is about to happen very soon"

Listening to the soundtrack cd itself isn't as great an experience as i had hoped;
Large part of the soundtrack is build around the same piece of? melody so it gets repeatitive at times.
Good stuff though, my fav cds atm.

...And incredibly effective in the movie itself.
Watching these young adults destroying their life with the silouette of this deserted wheel of the world in
the backround while the flood of various string instruments&piano start doing that there cool main theme..ahh, big emotions.

Fairly unrelated piece of trivia;
In requiem for a dream, when Marion (Jennifer Conelly) is, er, riding the snake one of the visions she gets
is a view of a beach and a long dock where she stands alone, staring in the sea.
Dark city(released around 1995), a movie wich also stars Jennifer Conelly, has pretty much exaqctly the same scene.

But it's not on the real soundtrack.. But I get your point.

You do?  Explain to me please!

Just because there is a GN'R song on a soundtrack doesn't make it good... *cough* End of Days, besides you're right, there isn't a GN'R song on the T2 soundtrack, it is only featured in the movie.

I grew up in the short-lived "grunge movement".  The Singles soundtrack is my favorite.  Pearl Jam, Paul Westerberg, Smashing Pumpkins, AIC, Chris Cornells first solo attempt, Mother Love Bone and others. Its a kickass soundtrack. : ok:

I love the Sin City music and batman theme tune, the old one. I love DLT on XXX2 and Rammstein Feur Frei (spelling is crap i know)

I think the Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire track is good to. I love the clash of Radiohead and Pulp at the Yule Ball singing the Hippogriff song.

The La Bamba soundtrack is great to hear some old 50's rock songs recorded (mostly by Los Lobos) and some other newer artists. Well, new for 1986 anyway : ok:
