Any Shooter fans here? I know he's labeled as country but this guy is awesome music wise. Check out his new cd Electric Rodeo. It's got alot of Zeppelin/Skynyrd in it as well as his dad's influence. Someone once called it a cross between GNR and Waylon, which is pretty accurate imo.
For those of you totally unfamiliar with him, he's Waylon Jennings' son, and played/sang with Slash and Duff in Hollywood a couple of times before they started looking at Josh and Scott. He has many GNR references throughout his career, as he always quotes Appetite as his influence, his shirts that he sells has the same pistol logo, his drummer quite often wears GNR or VR shirts on stage and in videos, and their house music before their shows is AFD.
I got into him after getting sick of the manufactured pop/metal/rock/country that's out there and wanted something real. Especially in country music, where it is just become popular, pick a song that someone has written for you, sing it with professional musicians from Nashville, and become a marketing whore. Shooter and his band, the .357's, write everything on their records which is refreshing.
