Masterpiece theater has the best film version of WUTHERING HEIGHTS out now. I just love Heathcliff. They actually filmed it on the moors, I want to go back there and yell HEATHCLIFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!THERE WAS A TIME makes me think of Cathy and Heathcliff.

I admit wuthering heights and catcher in the rye are the books I've started to read many times since i was at a primary school and never finished.
I had no problem reading through jane eyre by another bronte. and all other works by salinger. weird.

You fool! Catcher in the Rye takes but a couple of sessions to get through. Get to it!

... But I bet that you don't just read it the once.

I finished Wuthering Heights, more than likely chiefly because I had to study it. I doubt that I would have got all the the way through it  (I never finished Jane Eyre) otherwise. But it is a good book.

^ ppbebe is confirming my theory that Catcher in the Rye is a dude's book.  Honestly, I don't have a single male friend that couldn't identify with that asshole Holden.  The ladies I know, not so much.  Just my 2 cents.

hehehe the jane eyre I had was an abridged version for kids. so was wuthering height and with all the pretty pictures, yea cj, I remember, every character at the first several pages or so seemed nasty.

axl4prez, I don't hate holden but I think I found the story rather dull.

I will conquer catcher in the rye (one day). yes
