My husband and I frequent LV on a minimum of 3 times a year, and has been a routine in our lives for about the last 6 or 7 years.

I can remember my first trip like it was yesterday, I seemed to have been drawn into the electricity of it all, so seductive were it's ways in all that the city had to offer.  The whole damn experience was addicting, we became repeat offenders of this cities sinful ways in no time at all.

Due to our own hectic schedule over the last year, we hadn't made a trip until now. This time was somewhat different.  The economy has definately changed that feeling we had experinced so many times before.  The number of visitors were far and few in comparison, and it seemed as if the casino's were not experiencing the loud cries and shouts of it's winning patrons, the slots and the cards also seemed to show no mercy to there players, even the high rollers were far and few between. Even the amount of cocktail servers were less abundant and those who were visiting, you could tell were on a way more frugle note.

I didn't leave dissapointed, but with a different mindset, and kind of a sad one.  Just thought I would come home and share it with you all for what ever it may be worth.

We did see a great show this time round, and if I could ever recommend a show it would be this.. Criss Angel Mindfreak, WOW!!!

I just booked my trip for April 2-6 staying at The Stratosphere with some friends.  This will be my second trip in less than a year, and Im definately hooked to the Las Vegas atomosphere.  Love walking the strip with a beer, betting on sports, and riding the coasters are my top things to do.  I also like to drink ! anyway it should be a fun time for me, since there will be the NCAA Final Four and Opening Day of Baseball to bet on.

I just booked my trip for April 2-6 staying at The Stratosphere with some friends.  This will be my second trip in less than a year, and Im definately hooked to the Las Vegas atomosphere.  Love walking the strip with a beer, betting on sports, and riding the coasters are my top things to do.  I also like to drink ! anyway it should be a fun time for me, since there will be the NCAA Final Four and Opening Day of Baseball to bet on.

I was out in Vegas a few years ago for the first weekend of March Madness and it was insane.  Prices for that weekend are now also insane so we've moved to the NFL Conference Championship weekend in past years.  Went a couple weeks ago and one of the cocktail waitresses was telling us it was her last day.  They were cutting back big time and she was really far down the list, signs of the economy.  Anyway, her name was Bambi (go figure).  And she said she had done an audition tape for Survivor the day before.  So if you see a Bambi on Survivor in the future, that'd be her.  She was real small though, I can't see how she could compete.

Well, your never gonna see them at the same Joint we all love. They are closing the original Joint and building a new one. The last show there is Motley Crue on Feb. 7th. But the new one is almost done, set to open in April I think. First show at the new Joint?  haha, it would be great!

Me too, that was my best trip ever.  I partied with a bunch of board members before the show lol.  You guys no who you are, that was fun huh?  Pre- Party at "Terrribles" , thanks Buda_Master and wifey. Hopefully we can do it again.

I had a feeling the economy would have an effect on this place.  What I sense from you is more desperation in the air rather than people having a good time.  What a real shame.  I can only hope things start to turn around soon.

From what I've read elsewhere the economy is really hurting there (Duh considering what the main industry is there) but boy those house prices are dropping like a rock. I actually ended up moving back to Florida rather than LV because the prices were so fucking ridiculous out there at that time. The deals I'm seeing out there now are great and dropping. Looks like I'll settle down out there after all in a few years. Unless I go further south to Boca or West Palm.

It's pretty sad that I've been the only one able to enjoy that footage of us all that night, I am so not technically inclined, so any pic I have ever posted has been with the help of my kiddies.  I need to get the footage off of the video tape and into the computer somehow Give me some direction so I know where to begin.  Help

You are right!!  I was a little amazed at the prices while watching some of the real estate on the tube.  It's good for the buyers now, if you are fortunate enough to buy, but sad for existing property owners, who have lost value, but that a different subject, just sayin...

Wasted Space is a separate place. The new Joint is still gonna be called the Joint, its where the parking lot to the east side of the building was.
