Finally! the 80's Best Frontman Survivor is here.
We have it all...pop, techno pop, rock, hard rock, heavy metal, folk-country...
You all know the rules.
10 nominees please.
12 will enter the survivor as there are many frontman to choose from.
Here's a short list of candidates:
Michael Stipe - REM Frank Black - Pixies Gordon Gano - Violent Femmes Robert Smith - The cure Bono - U2 Brian Johnson - AC/DC Jon Bon Jovi - Bon Jovi David Gahan - Depeche Mode Ric Ocasek - The Cars Tom Keifer - Cinderella Ian Astbury - The Cult Joe Elliot - Def Leppard Jeff Keith - Tesla Dee Snider - Twisted Sister David Coverdale - Whitesnake Jani Lane - Warrant David Lee Roth - Van Halen Jim Kerr - Simple Minds Don Dokken - Dokken MArk Slaugher - Slaugher Ian McCulloch - Echo & THe Bunnymen Mark Knopfler - Dire Straits Simon Lebon - Duran Duran Michael Hutchence - INXS Bruce Dickinson - Maiden Dave Mustaine - Megadeth Robin Zander - Cheap Trick James Hetfield - Metallica Peter Garrett - Midnight Oil Vince Neil - Motley Crue Bret Michaels - Poison Sting - The Police Chrissie Hynde - The Pretenders Paul Westerberg - The Replacements Stephen Pearce - Ratt PAtrick Morrisey - The Smiths Ian Brown - The Stone Roses David Byrne - Talking Heads Kevin Dubrow - Quiet Riot Geoff Tate - Queensryche Max Calavera - Sepultura
Some of you may noticed that I have left some big names. Well, Freddy Mercury and Steven Tyler are more a 70's act in my opinion, but it's really up to you.
Let's get started then.
One more thing...I will start a thread on "discussions on Best 80's frontman survivor" so we can all discuss our choices without slowing down the voting itself.

My nominees are: Rob Halford - Judas Priest - I can't believe he hasn't been mentioned yet! Ric Ocasek - The Cars Ronnie James Dio Ozzy Osbourne Sebastian Bach - Skid Row Joe LeSte - Bang Tango Max Calavera - Sepultura Michael Hutchence - INXS Annie Lennox - Eurythmics Mike Patton - Faith No More Edit:? I had to take off David Lee Roth to include Ronnie James Dio.? I chose DLR because he had enough votes on here already to get him into the running... but I couldn't live with myself if I didn't at least give a nod to Dio and his contribution to 80s music.? ?So, my apologies to DLR ... perhaps the definitive front man... so many have followed in his footsteps, but not one could fill his shoes... I had to do this... because Dio should not be asked to pass the torch.? 2nd Edit: I took off Geoff Tate to include Sebastian Bach. That was a difficult call... vocally, I think Geoff is superior to Bach, but, as far as entertainment and stage presence, Bach has it over Tate. Oh well... I love them both. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

I can't believe noone mentioned Sebastian Bach. Is he allowed to join?
George Michael!! This man is a musical genius, he has to join! Say what you will about him, but he is an extremely talented vocalist (much more than most of these guys). Bach David Gahan Michael Monroe Bono Ozzy Peter Gabriel Rob Halford Prince ...and...hmm let me see...Jon Bon Jovi, just so the fighting keeps me entertained.
Edit: forgot Halford
