I'm going to see this movie tuesday or wednesday. I don't care if the story and dialogue is bad, it's the final sequel and it's the last time I'll see the actors play the characters.

Really dissapointed with this film - not least because the trailer ruins everything!

No matter what happened in the film you were forewarned by the trailer, destroying any kind of suspense - Magneto moving the bridge was awesome, but i knew that was coming months ago! rant

Killing off key characters is just absurd, at times the director was killing off anything that moved as if to deliberately prevent a follow up film, the film did not benefit from it at all

Storywise...well, what happened? Where was the resolution between humans and mutants, and if you weren't going for resolution then why ''the last stand'?!?

Why introduce characters that have three lines? No one got the chance to say anything apart from Halle Berry who's credentials as a decent actress must have been taken by Leach at some point during filming (maybe a deleted scene?)

Nothing was particularily spectacular - i mean c'mon mutants with amazing powers fight - how can you fail to make that impresive? Why did most mutants just charge straight into people wih guns, does mutantion also cause stupidity?

What happened to Magneto's forcefield??

Argh what an awful film, and the first two had promised so much and though hit and miss were enjoyable affairs

Saw it last night. Liked it.

I think that a fourth may be in the offing, or a number of spinoffs.

So what did happen after the credits?

***** SPOILER ******
Assuming you saw the movie but didn't stay for the scene after the credits, it goes to the man who had a perfect body, but no higher brain activity (the one Xavier was using to talk ethics to his students).  You see the man turn his head, and call out the nurse's name in Xavier's voice.  The nurse looks at him and says "Charles".

There will be Wolverine & Magneto spin-offs and very possibly a Storm spin-off (God help us with the Storm one...)

But with the things that happened to Magneto & Charles at the end, there very well may be a 4th X-men and I damn well hope there will be...

20th century Fox have confirmed it - but c'mon, a successful franchise isn't going to be left alone for long - Fox were so desperate for X men 3 they wouldn't even wait for Bryan Singer to finish Superman - the next installment will be with us in 3-4 years of that there is no doubt....

Personally i cannot wait for the Magneto film, a really intresting character and if Ian McKellan is to play his younger self - hell, i'll be camped outside the cinema! According to Sir McKellan using clever camera effects he can and very possibly will play himself 40+ years in the past, the effects in question are the same magic used at the beginning of X Men 3 and damn, they work - Sir Ian looks 20 years younger and without any makeup used at all!

The way I see it going down is .We will see either the Wolverine or  Magneto spin-offs.Then we will see X4 ,then the other spin off movie.

Truth be told their will proable be a fith film in the series .Cause Vinnie Jones(Juggernaut) and a few of the other cast member have up till movie six clauses in their contracts.

If the 4th sells there will be a 5th and so on - if they always do well they will make them for decades to come and beyond

Just look at James Bond films thats 40 years plus - a successful series just keeps going unless its physically impossible to continue it i.e Lord of the Rings

X-Men breaks US box office record
Superhero epic X-Men: The Last Stand took 120.1 million US dollars (?64m) over the Memorial Day weekend in the US, the biggest opening ever for the American holiday.

Preliminary estimates gave the latest installment of the comic book franchise the fourth best three-day opening, and the best single Friday in movie history with a gross of 45.5 million US dollars (?24m).

The film, starring Halle Berry and Hugh Jackman, also had the second-biggest one-day gross after last year's Star Wars: Episode III.

.....that pretty much confirms another trilogy
