Title: Karma points.
Post by: chinesedemocracy05 on September 01, 2006, 01:06:35 PM
First off. Mods, i respect what you do and you guys run the best Guns website on the net.  : ok:

But, i dont get the karma points thing. It doesnt make sense to me and seems like a power trip for mods, like someone calls someone a name, then the mod gets to "punish" them by giving them negative karma. Is there a certain number of negative karma points that can get you banned? I just dont get the whole idea behind karma points. Would someone  care to explain?

Sorry if there is already a thread about this.

PS please dont give me negative karma for this.

It's a way for us to keep track of the people who cause trouble.

In the past we'd just tell people "that was way out of line, consider yourself warned". There was no way to know if the person had been warned once or 100 times.

With this system we can easily tell.

There's no set number for when a member gets banned. Also, you can have 0 karma points and still get banned.
