How do you deal with everyday stress?

I feel like I'm a over-tuned guitar string only waiting to break.

I think what goes on my nerves the most is the fact that I'm buing an appartment and my friend, who I'm buing it from is bugging my all the time to hurry things up. Fuck, they told me at the bank all ready that I get the loan, so what's her problem?

She really causes me head-ache, I just lit a smoke after talking to her just to cool my nerves.

Then there are my gf's parent's who keep asking us to come over. Shit, I do two jobs so if we somehow have our "weekend" at the same time, driving for two hours two meet her parrents ain't just on my top10 list. Not to mention the fight about my dogs, or having to search a baby-sitter for them. And when there we're left as baby-sitter for her brothers and sisters every time.

Then it's hard to get our money to be sufficient and while my sallary is shit, her's even shittier and I feel like the man of the family should take care of it.

Then I should have the time to repair my car, it's carburettor is clogged up, and one ball-and-socket joint is ready to go. I do have the car I crashed for spare-parts, but I should drag it to my friends carage, where we'll pick it to pieces, just when I got the time.

Top to that I need to do 6 day of work in a week and the gf prolly gets most the shit for it. I feel bad about it. I try to sit in my car or just catch my breath? if I'm by bike, you know, just smoke a cig before going up after a hard-days work so I won't say anything bad. But I'm trying to stop smoking. I need my time alone, especially after work.

Any advice?

I feel debressed, I can't even force myself to hit the gym anymore, maybe that would help, though.

I piss very often. I'm a pretty anxious guy. Tongue

- Sports works pretty well to eliminate the stress.
- relaxaxion, sauna, hamam, massage
- music
- sex
- going out and have a party with some friends.
- internet (it's relaxing)
- sleep
- eat vegetables and fruts
- take magnesium (it acts on the nervous system)
- eat chocolate
- walk the evening after the dinner.
- laugh (comedy movies or one man show)

and the most important to avoid stress: Don't think about "Chinese Democracy"? hihi

Either I sleep or leave the house when I'm pissed off, music helps too.

Well, my new appartment has sauna, and my gf's massage's me if I want so I'm doing good in all that and the sex section.
But I'll try changing my diet to have more vegetables, I did feel better when I ate more of those.
I also picked a bottle of magnesium, lets see if it helps.

And I have a party with friends next saturday, we'll hit an amusement park, go for a boat-cruise and chill on the beach before going to a club, so I think it's gonna be a cool night Smiley

What's hamam? Thanks for the advice!

Oh, and sometimes playing fight night 2 helps also, if I don't lose ( I WON'T change the difficulty back to medium  hihi)

Basicly when I'm pissed of I just want to be alone, maybe have a smoke or a cold beer. Being alone is hard though when my gf there's tryin to cheer me up  Undecided And I do value her effort

hamam is like the sauna but with wet air mix mith Eucalyptus. it's a 45/50 ?C wet air. You sweat a lot, wich is very good to purify your skin (you evacuate toxines) especially with the help of Eucalyptus (a plant - like menthol). after that, you have a baby skin and you feel good Smiley

For the food: avoid butter, and take olive oil. Choose a meditaranean diet. lemon helps to burn bacteries in your stomach. an orange juice a day is good too. and don't go to the Mc Donalds!!

avoid to go too much to restaurants too. Sometimes it's ok, often is too much.

alcool turns into sugar in your blood. beer gives you a stomach like a ballon. avoid them.

No tobacco.

Oh yeah, I tried that Hamam at the spa, I remember thinking "Now, only if I got a thai-girl to massage me it would be perfect".  yes
About a month ago I ate more vegetables, and when I did hit the McDonalds I felt like throwing up, haven't gone there since. I do take orange juice every morning, but now when I think of it my diet is very meat-oriented so I'll do something about it, hopefully it helps.

BC...duddddeee! Definitely keep the gym thing going....even if you just run 'round the block or lift weights in the house...tell your gf's parent to visit you...they are not letting go and gf needs to step up to the plate...for pete's sake you just moved in together...she needs to tell them you all need some space (if you tell them they'll just get all ugly and say shit about you) Don't be depressed...you gotta keep looking at the big picture....I know that's hard when your a 20-something kid, and I don't mean that as a "dig" or anything...but you knew life was going to get a bit more complicated when you chose to co-habitate with gf right? New place, having to deal with her parents moreso than if you were living apart?...when you wake up in the morning, just look at it as another opportunity... Grin
sometimes watching stupid television (and there's enough of that being broadcast) works, just takes your mind off it...your brain is probably whizzing around at amazing speed...congrats on the loan...if you got the loan, get an ETA from the bank of when they are going to cut you the check and tell apartment woman....that way you're off the hook...you can't really rush a bank I don't think...stay cool dude.

Exercise releases natural antidepressants and automatically will make you feel better.

when Im extra stressed I put on the gloves and beat the shit out of a punching bag.

Turn my guitar up really loud and play the craziest shit I can think of.

U gotta learn to not stress and to take life easy.

for instance if I walk into the house and knock a glass of water over and the glass breaks, I dont get stressed out, I just pick it up and get a new glass of water.

If something happens there is no point in stressing over it because all u do is harm to yourself and all the worrying and stressing will not better or help your situation.

If u have to work like a maniac to have certain things re evaluate how much u need all the stuff u are workin for.

Live within your means.

Its good to have nice things but I wont sacrifice happiness and sanity just to have a nicer car or a bigger place to live.

In the end life is all about happiness, it isnt about how big your house is, how nice your car is, its about how content and happy you are.

Id rather live in a 2 room dump with a piece of shit car and be happy

than have a mansion and a rolls royce but be miserable.

cant work all the time, gotta have some free time and some release/fun time.

thats the only thing that can balance u out.

How do you deal with everyday stress?

I try to keep things in perspective by concentrating on the big picture. All stressful situations are temporary. Learning to adjust to adversity is the difficult task. It's all about attitude and how you react to problems.

I let myself get too stressed out and depressed yesterday. It could've been a great day, but I ruined it with my attitude. But things are better now, and life goes on.

You could also try chamomile tea. It's great for relaxing nerves. Unfortunately, I used all my chamomile tea last week. I really could've used it yesterday.? Wink

Thank God i don't have much stresses in my life (though it's all forward).
How to deal? For me it's always music, always hard rock (though i listen to only hard rock). Then i also like to come to some forum and join actual and agressive conversation. Not rude or kinda violent but rather evil, and it's always about life or people's nature.
When i'm in stress i hate talking to other people diretly, only in virtual mode.
And music, music all the time.
