Title: why do men write the best love songs?
Post by: journey on April 26, 2009, 02:59:52 PM
If women are considered to be the emotional ones, why is it that men write the most emotionally-charged love songs? Even 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' was written by a man (Jim Steinman).

Has anyone ever thought about this?

Women are the ones who do all the heart breaking. It's up to men, to struggle on.

I think Carole King and Joni Mitchell would disagree as would Diane Warren

I don't know about that. It's probably about even in that department.

I wasn't implying that women don't write great love songs. It's just fascinating that there are so many stereotypes about men. It sort of debunks the old argument that men are wired differently than women emotionally. That whole men are from Mars, women are from hell or whatever it's called.

Women go cry to their girlfriends and eat chocolate, while men use their emotions in a constructive manner.

men are  just as emotional. they just keep it bottled up inside until it manifests itself into a beautiful love song or a murder, murder, suicide...

Because men will do anything for a piece of ass, even if it includes writing an embarrassing love song.
