Here Today... Gone Tomorrow

« Reply #40 on: June 25, 2005, 08:12:08 PM »

I'm with you on Kanye, he's definetaly the best thing going in hip hop right now. ?The other ones I'm looking forward to are "Detox" by Dre, and the new VR album... both of which I'm not certain will be out by the end of the year.

So far I haven't been blown away by anything that's been released... I've only bought the Game, Coldplay, and Common CDs and I've been meaning to check out Audioslave and Foo Fighters. ?I've also heard the new White Stripes, but it's not as good as their last one.
detox isn't due before 2006, but that one will be fire, no doubt.
btw i'm a huge eazy/nwa fan, especially eazy.
did you know he once did a song with axl? i think it was even recorded, but never released. hopefully eazy's son will release it someday. nwa and guns n' roses were the most dangerous and the coolest and most controversial groups in the late 80's/early 90's. they had their prime at the excact same time, and i was so proud when i saw axl wear a nwa hat on stage. smoking

Tie between Oasis' "Don't Believe The Truth" and NIN's "With Teeth".  Nothing else good will come out this year.

Absolutely, without a doubt... it's Mezmerize by SOAD.? No other album comes close that I've heard thus far.? Perhaps Disturbed's new album can change my opinion though.? I also totally love NIN's With Teeth.

There's a new Arcturus album coming out in August, pure bliss! Also looking forward to the new Devin Townsend.

There's plenty of albums that may or may not come out but aside from the obvious one that we all look forward to the only ones i am really bothered about right now are the new Monster Magnet album and the Dave Wyndorf solo album.

Hopefully Pearl Jam can get a new album before the year ends.... That's always interesting because you can count on there being at least a few really great tracks on each album. Besides they always have some surprises on the albums instead of doing the same thing over and over again.

/jarmo

isn't the new PJ album slated for an early/mid November release? that's what Ive heard.

other than that, the Mars Volta and the Foo Fighters have both released incredible albums this year.
but Im eagerly anticipating RHCP's new album. also VR's new album, if they manage to get it our this year. peace

The Pixies may release an album in the near future. Hopefully this year. In the mean time, Frank Black (Pixies Frontman) will release a solo album anytime soon. This one doesn't feature "The Catholics", a band which has recorded with Frank over the years.

Looking forward the new Dinosaur Jr. (if any). They are back touring together, so lets hope they will release something.

Radiohead should release their 7th studio album this year. Interesting to see how they keep evolving.

Pearl Jam, the anticipation level is always high. This time, I assuming the album may sound way different from other records now that they are not with Sony anymore.

VR? not really, but even if I was waiting to such album, it won't happen this year. No way.

Death Cab for Cutie. It's been two years since they release one of the best albums of this decade. Expecting maybe a december release.

Best albums this year...

DTX - One More Sinner
Turbonegro - Party Animals

Albums im looking forward too? None at present, they were the only two, they are released and they fucking rock.
Any other good albums coming out will be a bonus, with that being said, i really like the Foo's new album.

really? I was a little disappointed with the Party Animals album.
Dont get me wrong, its not their best effort however, compared to all the other albums released this year they pale into insignificance.
Great fun time Rock and Roll played how it should be.

I love them!  love

Lucky bastard, you could of landed yourself a job with Turbonegro, maybe as part of the RoadCrew or summat...
Doh...dont you hate it when that happens.

When i saw them in Nottingham last year, me and Chris Misfit were at the bar, and Happy Tom was stood right next to Chris wearing an EF ( Electric Frankenstein) T-Shirt.
The aforementioned Misfit, didnt realise and didnt believe me when i told him.
We both love EF as well( apart from last album) thats why it was so significant.

Bloody Irish Bastard!

Ive also been impressed with the following albums this year....
Blood Simple
Raging Speedhorn

Dunno the album names off the top of my head and i cant be arsed to search!
