This is my ultimate supergroup. So many too choose from, I managed to narrow it down. Many were unlucky not to make it.

Male Vocals: W. Axl Rose
Female Vocals: Tarja Turunen
Backing Vocals: Tobias Sammet/Matt Barlow/Ronnie James Dio
Lead Guitars: Randy Rhoads/Slash/Bumblefoot
Rhythm Guitar: Jon Schaffer/Dave Mustaine
Bass: Marco Hietala/Bob Daisley
Drums: Mike Portnoy/Alex Holzwarth
Synth: Tuomas Holopainen
Keys: Luca Turilli/Jordan Rudess

Damn the stage is gonna be a bit crowded. Grin

Is anyone actually trying to fit together a cohesive unit to form a band? I mean we can't all have Freddie on vocals and then someone like Hendrix on guitar without having it sound ass-backwards. I could have picked technically better or more accomplished musicians for a lot of the slots in my band, but they wouldn't work well together, which was the biggest and most fun challenge of making the list. It's just disappointing to check the thread and see variations of the same lineup of the generally acknowledged greatest musicians of all time.

Keep In Mind I'm only Using Artists Who are Alive & Well

For the Ultimate Hard Rock N' Roll Super Group

Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) Lead Vocals
Slash (Velvet Revolver)   Lead/Rhythm Guitar
Angus Young (AC/DC)     Lead/Rhythm Guitar
Gene Simmons (KISS)    Bass
Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue) Extra Bass
Alex Van Halen (Van Halen) Drums
David Bryan (Bon Jovi) Keyboard

For The Ultimate Metal Super Group

Rob Halford (Judas Priest) Lead Vocals
Tony Iomi (Black Sabbath) Lead/Rhythm Guitar
Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne) Lead/Rhythm Guitar
Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) Bass
Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) Drums

For The Ultimate Classic Rock Band

Paul McCartney (The Beatles) Lead Vocals & Bass
Jimmy Page (Led Zepplin) Lead/Rhythm Guitar
Eric Clapton (Cream) Lead/Rhythm Guitar
Ray Manzarek (The Doors) Keyboard
Nick Mason (Pink Floyd) Drums

Good approach!  It's easy to pick your favorites and to not realize that they'd never work well together (maybe for a song...but not for an album).

Robert Plant-vocals
Jimmy Page-lead guitar
John Paul Jones-Bass and keyboards
Jason Bonham-drums

I don't see how anything could beat that combo.

i'm gonna post my "band" later.. just thought i'd say that like maybe a rule like don't make bands like axl, slash, steven, izzy and duff.. you know existing bands.. it's ultimate dream bands

Here we are, 7 years later and you guys are still waiting for my band. I think you'll have to wait another 7 years. What a great rule I came up with though!
