I don't know if you mean that it's bullshit as in it isn't true Mike, or bullshit as in it sucks, but I reckon...

bollocks that's true. If they've gone past the 100 million mark then there is no way that they are going to 'cut their losses.'? Roll Eyes

Add that to the press, the time spent filming, the fact that Singer is directing and, well, if that does happen then I will happilly eat Superman's hat.

Oh, and in case you hadn't noticed it is being released this year.

Have no fear!

Oh I mean it would suck if this happened..... Angry

No I'm not saying Warner is pulling out .Just they should have picked a better reales date .

That's what I thought, but see this

Nope Superman is being pulled.

confused me.  Tongue

Meh, I figure it will still make profit though, DVD sales will ensure that.

What is POTC2?

Pirates of the Carribean 2.

why would a magazine lie about such a thing? the movie is one of the most expensive in blockbuster history. The record for the most money atm is the Matrix Reloaded.

IMdb is a pretty good site but they also have a lot of bad info on their .
Matrix reloaeded cost around $150 million to make
Off the Top of my head the most exspensive movies are ,as of rigth now
King Kong $207 million
Spider -Man 2 $200 million
T3 $200 million
Titanic $200 million

Also here is a artical I found about Superman 's budget

There's been plenty of talk about how badly over-budget Peter Jackson went with King Kong. $200 million is a pretty hefty price-tag for a monkey movie. But PJ isn't the only one spending exorbitantly in a climate of economic downturn for Hollywood. According to TV Guide, Bryn Singer is sending Superman Returns' budget out into orbit. They say the final price tag for the film may end up being in the range of nearly $300 million.

That?s right, $300 million for Superman's return to cinema. For that much money, they'd better have invented an anti-gravity device. Forget flying harnesses, Brandon Routh ought to have a jet pack in his pants (which WB would no doubt digitally reduce).

The article in TV Guide quotes a source at the New York Post which describes the film as a "money pit". The resulting product is described as "Superman meets The Matrix", which as a moviegoer sounds pretty cool, but financially could be a massive disaster for Singer and Warner Bros.

Is there any truth to it? Box office website The Numbers puts Superman Returns budget at a massive $250 million, so it's not hard to believe that Singer could be heading towards being $50 million over budget.

Right now King Kong is one of the most expensive movie ever made, checking in at around $207 million for production. Kong will barely break even at the box office. Think about this? Superman Returns might cost nearly $100 million more than King Kong. That's enough money to make three normal summer blockbusters starring Tom Cruise. If they're letting Singer spend like that, then clearly Warners is banking on this being another Spider-Man, a movie that made nearly $783 million worldwide. It'll have to be, if Superman Returns is going to avoid turning into a massive, money wasting flop.

I think that confusion of the Matrix Reloaded budget is that it was made alongside Revolutions, and consequently they had a combined budget of (I think about...) ?300 million. Hence it's inclusion in the expensive movie what have yas.

As a stand alone, I'm not sure if it would even be top ten?

Meh, 'the most expensive movie ever made' is allways different depending on what you're reading.

Good read there Spidey,

but any idea what the budget for Spiderman 3? I had no idea that number 2 was around the 200 mark.

Also, I agree about IMDB. Great site, crucial to any film fan but,

it shouldn't be taken for gospel.

But hey, it's not their fault. They have a lot of material to cover.  ok

I read and heard that SPider-Man 3 was green light at around 200 m.

It does depend on were you read about the budgets .I have read that SPidy 2 was around 225m And Titanic was closer to 250m.

Your right the matrix sequels were filmed to gether which is why it probable is list like that .Which is also the amount being spent on POTC 2 and 3.

James Cameron's next film battle angel is rumored to cost around 500 m .

Any way to get back on topic .Has anybody heard what the realy plot of this Superman is ?

I think what the real plot is about Superman returning from a long absence dealing with a new outlook on life  and kind of picking up where he left off.

I just wonder what Christopher Reeve would think about this. Reeve will always be my favorite Superman, he played the character like he was born that way. I hope this new movie is good. I'm counting on Brandon Routh's acting, although I believe C. Reeve will always own the role.

I hope the sitcoms such as Superboy, Lois and Clark, and Smallville didn't keep me waiting all this time for nothing.

Has anyone else ever heard about this, the missing footage of Superman IV ? Superman battles another Nuclear Man, this hidden footage might be included in the special edition dvds of the Reeve/Superman movies that will be released soon this year.

Check out the pics:

Yeah, that's exactly how I feel. A Superman movie being released right after me finishing high school is a real blessing.

I'm not sure, i'll probably go see it when it comes out but all these "superhero" movies are kind of getting.. well.. old Tongue

It's like they took a chance on one and it worked so now they are flooding the theatres with them.. Fantastic 4, Spiderman, X-Men, Superman, Batman, The Hulk, and a bunch of others set to come out soon like Iron Man
