I hope this has not been said previously but if so it is worth saying again
Htgth forum is an extremely happy and exciting place to be right now
I have been reading posts here for close on 10 yes but rarely have posted

What jarmo has given us is a community, a family of brothers and sisters united
thank you and the moderators for giving us this environment

It has been a hell of a journey

For Axl his excitement must be amazing but no doubt he reads such public forums ESP these few days and it must be a great sense of achievement that his artistic project can create such joy for so many

Thanks Axl, thanks jarmo and thank all you members for making such a family a possibility and a reality

He may not have deleted it, just merged it with a similar thread I know was created a while back. Take a look around and you'll probably find it. And sometimes posts and topics disappear for reasons they mods see fit, which you may not always agree with, but it's their board and their rules and we are here by our own free will. I guess my point is, don't let one topic being removed or simple merged with another one deter you from creating new topics. It's really not that big of a deal. Cheer up!  beer

Do you think now that we have so much Guns N' Roses to discuss and VR have been dropped by their label and have seemingly fizzled out, that it's time to remove the Velvet Revolver board and just have any VR related topics in the Ex-Gunners section?

its been great getting to know everyone though a long the way. A lot of great things have happened during this wait that wouldn't have otherwise.

It's been 14 years of silence
It's been 14 years of pain
It's been 14 years that are gone forever
and we'll never have again

And that's a damn shame.
Cheers all beer

More than anything, I'm just happy for Axl; happy that his work was able to come to fruition, and that both he and his work are being recognized, accepted, and treated with some long overdue respect. I'll be able to say I was there.

But this is far from the end. This is just the beginning. Remember: Chinese Democracy starts now.

You're not kidding. I'm a senior now, and it's hard as hell to believe I was listening to "Better" and all those leaks back when I was a damned freshman. Time flies.

What's to come? As far as we know, a tour in the summer and two more albums by 2012. I hope that follows through...

"What a long, strange trip it's been..."

And it's been a pleasure sharing every second of the ride with everyone here! It's still absolutely surreal that I'm holding "Chinese Democracy" in my hands, listening to it on repeat over and over again, and flipping through the booklet. I've been looking forward to this day for a long time, and to see it come to pass it a completely overwhelming experience.

Congratulations to Axl and the band! Here's to the beginning of an exciting new era!  beer

Fo-realzies. I can't stop flipping through the booklet and seeing who did what on the songs. I'm very interested in the overall production of it.

It's been years, we've all been through a lot, i speak for me in saying i met wonderful people on the net during that wait, some i can call " friends".

I do thank the band for that because without the music, there wouldn'"t have been a meeting place.

I do also thank jarmo, but not just :

- sladdi and BP
- Lucs and Aero
- Wills and the french team
- UndercoverX for the starters
- C2ya
- People from the GNR BAR
- all people from all other sites

We had a laugh and still will and GNR has been a part of these past 10 years and will be for the next 10.

Im only new here...But Ive been a Guns N Roses fan since I was 14 and was sent Live Like A Suicide...Fuck, that was way back in 1986 (possibly very early 1987)!!!

While Ive not shared 'net time' with anyone here, Ive been through the wringer while waiting for Chinese Democracy, and all through those years Gunner's music has kept me going...That and the many downloads of rare and unreleased songs I never knew existed until I found them on various sites.

Im hoping to see the band for the third time when they tour (first time was in the late 80's ('88 maybe), second time was in 1993 at Eastern Creek in Sydney) and am looking forward to the life of Chinese Democracy and the other albums to come after.

The wait is over...and now....

But the beginning of a new one.

November 2008 is one for the history books, and I'm just excited to have been able to witness history in the making - with both the Presidential election and the release of Chinese Democracy - plus the whole Dr. Pepper thing!

It's been a pleasure... no, wait, it hasn't!  But really, all these years people have looked at me strangely or thrown it back in my face every time I've talked about the "nu-gnr" and today I finally held CD in my hand.  The space I created in my head for the album is now filled.

Thanks Jarmo and the HTGTH board-members, and thank you to the band.

C'mon guys...it's not the end of anything!  Sure we foamed at the mouth for 12 years for this album, and now we have it...maybe no more rumor threads, no more hours on the refresh button waiting for some big announcement about Chinese Democracy,  but we now have an album, a potential '09 tour, new merch to look forward to, and dare I say...potentially 2 more albums to foam about if ChiDem ever gets boring {to talk about}.

Don't be sad, celebrate Chinese Democracy, and look forward to a bright future.   Thanks Jarmo, et al,  see you "Here Today..." and tommorow, and the next day...  ok

My post wasn't FEEDBACK about HTGTH...   I included a thank you to the GN'R community as a whole - it wasn't a(nother) Thank you Jarmo thread...

It was about the End of an Era for Guns N' Roses
The release of CD does mark the end of an Era..!
(regardless of what happens next/now)

I hope this has not been said previously but if so it is worth saying again
Htgth forum is an extremely happy and exciting place to be right now
I have been reading posts here for close on 10 yes but rarely have posted

What jarmo has given us is a community, a family of brothers and sisters united

Happy Place post includes "Its been a hell of a journey" but thats not the TOPIC of the "Happy Place" post - not even close to being the posters POINT

Happy Place post says : "Htgth forum is an extremely happy and exciting place to be right now..."
Happy Place post is ABOUT HERE TODAY GONE TO HELL (ergo the title of the thread "Happy Place")

"Its the End of an Era" is specifically NOT about what's going on right now and is NOT about the "Here Today Gone To Hell" site or forum....

Like I (already) said above I included a thank you to the community but that is not what the thread is about.

it was not a THANKS TO EVERYONE AT HTGTH post
it was not a THANKS JARMO post
it was ot a THANK GOD FOR HTGTH post  etc.

i understand about keeping posts NOT about the band off the main board

which is why i'm trying to figure out if that was the issue with the post (that I included a thank you to the community)

it was not the PURPOSE of my post

it also included a thank you to THE MEMBERS AND CONTRIBUTORS OF GUNS N ROSES for all they've done in this era...

THE POINT was reflected in the Thread Title "Its the End of an Era"

how does that got merged with a topic about "what a happy place" HTGTH is right now?

it was to reflect on how the release of CD marked the end of an Era in Guns N' Roses

some responded it meant the beginning of a new era

that is what it was about

not about "oh htgth is such a happy place now, thank you jarmo, etc."

it was ABOUT THE BAND not about HTGTH or Jarmo etc.

"Its the End of an Era" is specifically NOT about what's going on right now and is NOT about the "Here Today Gone To Hell" site or forum....

look its simple

Happy Place post - about HTGTH site/forum

End of Era post - about Guns N Roses

Happy Place post - about how exciting and fun the forum is "right now"

End of Era post - about a period of time in Guns N' Roses history ie: the making of CD... which is in the past

Bottom line:

Is the End of an Era post not a fit topic for discussion on the main GN'R board in the judgement of the mods and admins of this forum?

If not I'd like to know why, please.  Thank you.
