Cingular vs. Verizon

Anyone have any opinions over which is better? I was a former ATT customer until Cingular bought it over, now i barely get any reception, esp in my house. People say Verizon has the best reception, but if Cingular is merging they say that service will get better- just having a hard time, any help would be appreciated thanks

I have Verizon.  The reception is fine everywhere except in Michigan (roaming there for some reason) and my hometown near Lake Erie, where I get absolutely no reception at all 90% of the time.
