This maybe a redundant thread if so lock it Jarmo.

So who are some of you guys favorite players ? Not greatest just faves, here are mine.

Steve Clark RIP
Mick Ronson RIP
Slash
Kurt Cobain, yeah not a technical player but his sounds were pretty damn good IMHO. RIP
Viv Campbell
Duff McKagan : yeah as we all know him as a bassist, but i saw him with the Outsiders and stood in front of him and i tell you , he is a great guitarist, i like his style.
Stradlin , Izzy just had a great vibe, still does.
Shit i forgot about Brian May, good player and a decent guy.

Well so far i think we are beating Rolling Stone's list, not that they didnt have great guitar players on it , just the ranking that was a fucking joke.

As a guitar player, my favourites are:
Satriani
David Grier
EVH
Michael Angelo
Zakk Wylde
Randy Rhoads
Nokie Edwards

As a music listener:
Slash
Randy Rhoads
Dave Gilmour
EVH
Richie Sambora
Jeff Buckley
Jeff Beck
Mark Knoplfer
..etc the list goes on...

And for being an absolutely incredible guitarist, and a truly, truly inspiring person, Jason Becker. beer

I have to agree with Miz, Jason Becker is a very inspiring person, people argue and bitch about petty things like who is better the new GnR or Velvet Revolver, then you hear about somone like him and it really makes you realize how much things like that are so meaningless and how we as people take so much for granted. cheers to Jason Becker. Can you people PLEASE learm how to spell?
It goes...
R-A-N-D-Y -- R-H-O-A-D-S

got it?

  • Zakk Wylde (Ozzy)
Not Zakk Wylde with BLS? or P&G?? His guitar work with Black Label and especially Pride and Glory is way better than most of his Ozzy stuff.

  • Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath)
  • Angus Young (AC/DC)
Damnit!! I forgot both of those guys!
