He's had so many heath problems lately...

BRET MICHAELS Undergoes Emergency Surgery - Dec. 21, 2010

According to ThirdAge.com, POISON singer Bret Michaels underwent an emergency operation to take out his appendix Monday night (December 20). Bret complained of stomach pains during the day and had to be rushed to the emergency room moments before he took the stage at a San Antonio, Texas concert.

A statement from Michaels' representatives reads as follows: "Moments before he was to take the stage, doctors at Sea World urged Bret to go to hospital as he'd been suffering all day from severe pains, and what was assumed to be a severe case of the flu.

"After further examination it was determined he was suffering from acute appendicitis. He was rushed into emergency surgery at 1am. He remains in hospital but is doing well.

I just saw the finale (I think it was) of "Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It" where he proposed to his girlfriend of 16 years.  As far as I know though, they haven't gotten married yet right?  Last I heard, there were those rumors he was fooling around with Miley Cyrus' mom, that he denied.

Anyway, on his health.  Not sure if this is related to him pushing himself too much, but watching his VH1 show he certainly hasn't slowed down all that much and he's obviously not in the best of health.  Maybe he should scale it back a bit.  Too bad he didn't get that American Idol gig, then he could've made plenty of money just for sitting on his ass and judging mediocre singers.

If you're waiting...don't. Live your life. That's your responsibility not mine. If it were not to happen you won't have missed a thing. If in fact it does you might get something that works for you.

I highly doubt there could be any correlation between his work load and appendicitis. I'm not aware of any medical proof that stress or working too hard can cause it.

Rocker Bret Michaels has successful heart surgery

The Associated Press

Monday, January 24, 2011; 9:42 PM

PHOENIX -- Officials at a Phoenix hospital say rocker Bret Michaels' surgery to close a hole in his heart was successful.

A surgical team at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix performed the procedure Monday.

A hospital spokeswoman says Michaels is recuperating and remains in the hospital's intensive care unit for observation.

Doctors discovered the hole in Michaels' heart in April when he was treated for a brain hemorrhage.

Doctors inserted a catheter into a vein in Michaels' groin with a closure device, and tiny cameras assisted doctors as they operated to close the hole.

The closure device will remain in Michaels' heart permanently to stop abnormal blood flow between two chambers of his heart, which is thought to have caused the warning stoke he suffered.

Bret Michaels Has Health Scare After Heart Surgery

 January 31, 2011

While recovering from heart surgery, Bret Michaels suffered a massive drop in blood pressure, but his doctor found the cause and the singer is doing better again.

"Bret suffered no setbacks and is fine. It's always good for patients to be evaluated when they're not feeling well," says Dr. Mansour Assar, an interventional cardiologist.

The rocker, 47, is recuperating at home in Arizona after undergoing surgery Jan. 24 to repair a hole in his heart. The hole was discovered when he suffered a mini-stroke last May.

Four days after the surgery, his blood pressure plunged. Tests showed the problem was not due to the surgery, but to dehydration and exhaustion, possibly as a result of his diabetes.

His rep adds Michaels is eager to return to his work for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation ? he raised $400,000 this month auctioning off his '69 Camaro and other cars ? and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers at Sunday's big game.

A Pennsylvania native, Michaels says, "Having the Steelers win (in the playoffs) the night before my surgery was a sweet gift.
