^^wasn't the live stream the surprise?
if it was, the surprise wasn't much positive as the quality was much worse than the previous stream and sometimes it didn't work at all.

i had the same problems but that wasn`t the bands fault, they had good intentions so everyone who wanted to could see it i`m sure i clips are working on getting better otherwise no one will use them i watched it later and it was fine ok

Great show but lame crowd. I was practically the only person dancing in the balcony.

I agree. But, USA GNR crowds are always "lame" compared to other countries. Anyway, the 30th was the best show out of the two in my opinion. When we got to the hard Rock around 9pm we saw DJ walking with his people. I didnt bother him tho. Then while we were waiting for a cab at 3am, Frank walked by us outside. I said hi but I was drunk and for some reason didnt call him by his name. I just started talking to him in Spanish. We shook hands and he went on with his girl--friend... Cool dude...

I have a question about "Sorry".

In the 2nd verse you could hear almost only Axl and no other instrument, only some pitman's effects.

Did they do that also in the next Vegas show that way or it was something wrong with the guitars?

I liked it by the way  Grin

I missed the iClips broadcast of this, and was able to see the first half of the show on youtube by someone who uploaded the entire show in I think 4 parts, but now I can't find it.  Anyone have a link to this cause now I can't seem to find it; or maybe it was taken down?

I belong to a GNR message board?

« Reply #254 on: January 05, 2012, 12:52:48 AM »

Don?t know where to exactly post this, but I figure I will put it in the final show of my three shows.

I have never before been to a GnR show prior to this tour, and have been dying with anticipation. My first show was the homecoming show at the Forum in Los Angeles.  When they kicked off with Chinese Democracy I lost my mind!  Everything that has been said about seeing GnR live for the first time that I have read on this message board was 100% true.  The experience lived up to years of anticipation!  I don?t want to repeat all of the comments that have been said, but needless to say it was an amazing experience to see GnR live for the first time in the pit back in the Jungle!

I brought a friend who was a big fan of the old line up, and was still not sold on CD the album.  ? through the show, he was amazed.  By the end of the show, he was totally sold on the new lineup and the new album.  All the next week he was texting me what song he was listening to, and how awesome it was.  It was so satisfying to show an older Gunner that the new lineup has just as much to offer. He said it best, ?just new material from the GnR cannon!?

Highlight moments:
Chinese Democracy (now my favorite song they play, and DJs opening is perfect!)
Estranged (the surreal moment where it hit me I was seeing GnR in LA!!!)
Sorry (killer live!)
Flipping a former hater!
Better (loved it since the first time I spoiled myself listening to the leak?)

Phoenix Show

In Phoenix I was visiting my girlfriends family for Christmas that week, and was lucky that GnR was in town? I asked for (and received) GnR tickets for me and my girlfriend for some great seats.  We had a great view, and since we were staying downtown we were able to PARTY before the show (I was sober in LA (LA sober = just weed)).  Thanks to this message board, I was able to arrive at both shows with little time before GnR (iphone trolling).  I had my beers, and rocked out!

Highlight Moments:
Chinese Democracy! (still sooo cool)
Jungle (had a better view of the crowd LOSING their minds)
My girlfriend totally turning into a good sport into a legitimate fan!

Vegas Show
Now, my girlfriend was not a super huge GnR fan prior to her live experience, but she too was converted? On our last day in Phoenix prior to our drive home to the LA area (12/29) my wonderful wife of the future said ?lets go to GnR tomorrow!? (this is at about 10pm at a bar?).  I was shocked, and within minutes SHE had booked two GA tickets and a room for one night at the Hard Rock!

When we finished the drive from Arizona to the Hard Rock, we saw the tour buses in the parking lot, and  as we walked through the casino on our way to check in we ran into DJ!  I said hello, thanked him for the show(s) and wished him luck.  I was too nervous, so the picture I snapped kinda sucked, and I am a grown man so I didn?t want to come off like a 13 year old? either way, it was amazing.  He was gracious and humble.

Needless to say, when I arrived at the show I was LA sober and Drunk?  My awesome lady and I were able to get really close on the left side of the stage.  By the end of the show, we were up on the rail getting amazing pictures and videos.  The band sounded amazing and they interacted so well with the audience.

Highlights:
Meeting DJ!
Getting close to the band
Realizing Richard Fortus is GOD!!!

I was so glad I finally committed to seeing GnR and not letting work or anything stand in my way.  I was even more glad that my girlfriend is now a die hard fan!  This tour was amazing, and the band was so tight that I am giddy to see what they produce next.  It was better than I ever imagined, and lived up to all my expectations and then some!

My review:

amazing.

Gotta agree with this review.  Was great meeting you, Redman, and others.  For those of you that are interested:

Decided to do the VIP thing.  Yeah, I feel a little dirty paying to meet the band members (wish I knew another way but I don't - don't know how u guys do it u lucky bastards), but the way I figure it, GNR are cool with it (otherwise they wouldn't offer it), plus you are also paying for souvenirs (shirt, laminate, etc.), food, drinks and atmosphere.  Got there at the right time but no idea where to go for the VIP thing, no signs, etc.  We were finally able to get someone to locate them for us.  Please keep in mind that this really isn't the fault of GNR or GroundControl since they had a very short time to arrange all this.  The room they had us in wasn't the greatest (not enough chairs, very drab) but the real thing that sucked is that it was outside of the doors to the venue and the only bars serving drinks were inside the venue.  So you had to enter and exit whenever you wanted to get a drink.  The food was only cheese and crackers.  The cool thing though is that there was only like 10 of us so they gave us 4 drink tickets and the gave us each a general admission ticket even though we already had tickets.  Also, when we went to meet the band it was really cool since we had a lot more time to interact with them since there was only 10 of us.  Yes, Axl was not there nor were some other band members.  But to me I understood that no band members were guaranteed at all.  The guys who were there were cool and down to earth.  We got the VIP laminate, but no GNR card (see my review of the 31st for what I am referring to here).  The shirt is coming in the mail (they called us for what size we wanted) and I am glad since there were no special New Year's shirts but we were told that the shirt coming will be.  The concert was awesome natch, but the meet and greet happened when Back was on so not only did we miss him, but couldn't get to the front again unless you are really persistent (Redman!).  So overall pretty good and they fixed some of the problems the next night...
