Title: The Return Of The King
Post by: Booker Floyd on March 06, 2004, 05:02:25 PM
The new issue of Total Guitar has a cover feature on Slash and hits newsstands March 9th...Heres the preview...

The return of the king!
(http://www.intermusic.com/upload_images/FTR/slash.jpg) Slash roars back with a new album - and he's been telling TG all about it...

Ex-Guns N' Roses titan SLASH has been talking exclusively to Total Guitar about the long-awaited arrival of his new band VELVET REVOLVER.

The supergroup, comprised of Guns members Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, together with ex-Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland, has been beset by problems from day one - largely due to the singer's volatile, druggy behaviour (something Slash will no doubt be used to by now, having dealt with Axl...)

However, the whole thing is now emphatically back on track. And, having heard the album in full (the only UK mag to have done so), we're pleased to report that it marks an incredible return to form. Combining the raw punk metal attitude of Appetite For Destruction with a more sophisticated, groove-led approach, it looks set to re-establish Slash as a genuine global contender.

"This is the best fuckin' record I've ever made," he enthuses. "It sounds so original, so finished. It's just like, 'Wow', you know? I'm blown away by it."

Read the full story in the current issue of TOTAL GUITAR, on sale 9th March.

"sophisticated, groove led approach"

I love that description.

It sounds like Slash has definately moved forward as a musician...

...Without chasing any trend...

What is this - some kind of kinky foreplay?

Quote

Now drool like Pavlov's dogs.

They love this album before it's even out. Critics are going to go so much easier on this album than CD.

Slash looks great, I can't wait to hear him again.

Slash is a true guitar GOD. Last year at Camp Freddy he stole the show. His tone these days is great and he has grown so much as a guitar player since The Guns days. And he was AWESOME back then lol.
