Everything about Matt is better in Velvet Revolver.
His hair, his drumming, his contribution to the band (he basically created all the music for Set Me Free).
I thought he was a bit of a tool in GnR and that his drumming didn't really fit with the band. But he's one of the best things about Velvet Revolver and Contraband.

That was my favorite tv show then...anyway, they had him as a guest, Lars Ulrich was hosting the show that week I think and Matt had even shorter hair and wore glasses. Matt's hair was terrible looking, I didn't like him at all when he joined GnR, I thought he looked and sounded a bit gay. He still sounds gay but he plays fucking great!
