Title: Fastest Shredders Around
Post by: Genesis on December 28, 2004, 01:47:13 AM
My order: Michael Angelo -> Malmsteen -> Satriani -> Petrucci -> Hammett -> Slash (in Don't Damn Me!)

Erm, I don't know who Michael Angelo is... Malmsteen, Satriani and Petrucci are surely among the fastest ones, but Slash and Kirk are just not that fast.

Where is Steve Vai? Or BH?

im sorry but there are probably about a million players faster than slash. yep probably a million.  : ok: :hihi:

but seriously there are tonnes of people out there that can shred way faster than slash. you'll just never hear about them cuz not many people really give a damn.

although i think michael angelo is the fastest at the moment isnt he?

or atleast that swedish guy with the name starting with O.  shouldnt this be in the guiness book of records.

Paul Gilbert?  Dimebag?  Zakk? EVH?

Slash is not in the same legue as those shredders, he never really does much anyway.  It's not his style.

I've never listened to Petrucci either.  i hear a lot about him, but I get the impression he's the only good thing about the band he's in.  Are they any good?

LOL, they're all pretty much best of the best, except for the singer James LaBrie perhaps. Listen to Metropolis pt. 1 and you'll get the picture :)

How about Michael Romeo from Symphony X? He's quite alright, in addition to the ones already mentioned here.

Take a look at my avatar for a fast shredder.

Malmsteen, Mustaine, EVH. Slash isn't a shredder and I doubt he is very fast when compared to these guys.

Also, the vocalist for Dream Theater sucks so much, it completely kills the music. The musicians might be talented but the guy sounds like an 18 year old punk rock singer.

No they're not. DreamTheatre sucks (RnR point of view), music wise they're pretty good. I got a clip of Michael Angelo shredding on a 30-fret guitar. His hands are so fast, they're literally a blur! Maybe i'll upload it sometime...

Well, he is a trained opera singer...

And I'll throw in Frank Marino for his guitar chops.

Shawn Lane? (probably an alltime number 1)
Rusty Cooley
Buckethead
Yngwie J. Malmsteen
Mattias Eklundh
Steve Vai
Ritchie Blackmore
Chris Impellitteri
Paul Gilbert
Dimebag

-PEACE-

EDIT: I also want to add MICHAEL ANGELO BATIO, though I never liked anything he did and most of it is pure guitargymnastics anyway, his speed is undeniable.
