Anyone heard of a band called Porcupine Tree? Didn't think so. But lately I've been really into them. I listened to In Absentia and Stupid Dream once, and ever since I've been playing them back to back.

To describe Porcupine Tree is kind of hard. It's.. music. In its purest form. It has some progish elements, and is quite popular among prog fans, but it's in no way a typical representation of the genre. Some of the songs rock, but most of it is really relaxed and emotive. It's not background music though, the production is great and the music really grasps you. It's just not very loud, y'know.

the best rock band since GNR split. seriously.

I uploaded their BBC radio session from 2007, it's at czech server but it's easy, just wait 30 secs, rewrite some numbers and click a button. enjoy
