Hey people change. Tom Cruise was gay.

Was?

The only way he is going to see Katie Holmes naked is if he rents "The Gift" hihi

Back on topic, I'll be the second person that admits to liking MCR. They arent going to change the world but I do like some of the songs quite a bit, especially The Ghost of You

Any other fans of this fuckin' killer band on here?

I only got introduced to MCR a few weeks ago through a friend's little sister who sent me a mix cd with "Helena" on it and after that first listen I was instantly addicted and had to hear more, the only problem is that every track I download is more amazing than the last. I picked up their latest album, "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" when I got off work today and it hasnt left my stereo since. You can try to classify My Chemical Romance in any genre you want, but that's just the beauty of this this unique band...you just can't say stick them into one genre because they incorporate so many different influences into their music. The simplest description for these New Jersey rockers would be emo/punk/hardcore/whatever although I just finished reading an online interview where lead singer, Gerard said they just considered themselves a kick-ass rock band. Gerard's vocals are definately the highlight of the band's brutally heartfelt music, only strengthened by Ray and Frank's killer guitar riffage, Mikey's bass, and Matt's drums. Id say anyone who liked the Used before they went all poppy or the White Stripes will find at least one song they like in this band's 2 album discography, my recommendations for those unfamiliar with MCR would be:

"Helena", the very first MCR song I heard, love at first listen
"Vampires Will Never Hurt You" is the second song I heard, and from then on, I was enamored with MCR.
"Demolition Lovers Part 1" this song is like a rollercoaster ride, slowly building to a killer climax
"Im Not Okay (I Promise) A lot softer, but still catchy
"Cemetary Drive", this song is simply must hear, beautiful vocals, and a chorus that you'll be singing for days
and finally "The Ghost of You", this song is just hauntingly beautiful..you needa hear it to believe it...

What songs does everybody else dig? Anyone seen MCR live? How were they?...I would have loved to catch them at the Rock-am Ring festival last year!

I hope you guys like this band, because they've been making the wait for Chinese Democracy that much easier ok

I Love MCR.  My faves of their songs are:

"Im not ok [I promise]"
"Helena"
"It's Not a Fashion Statement [It's a Deathwish]"

Some people I know dont want to listen to them becuse they think that are like "goth" or somthing?  Like Maralyn Manson.  But they are really great to listen to!

Thanks drama_qween, Ill have to give "Its a deathwish" a try.

Ive never heard people being turned off by the goth thing at all, as you can see in the first pic, its probably a stage gimmick more than anything. Although Ive had problems getting my friends into this band because of the "Emo" tag they've been given.

Emo or not, I think they're awesome ok

I guess gothic is only acceptable if your as mainstream and bland as Green Day. I think its funny how people have so many different for music nowadays, like why cant it just be that...music. If its great and you like it, brilliant, if not they tried and thats all that was asked. I think there are some gothic influences in their music and on stage wardrobe but nothing beyond that.

oh, I got deathwish and it kicks ass!
so does To the End ok

Oh have you heard "give em hell kid"  Thats really good aswell!!  Yeah they kind of look Gothic - but Im still confussed about the Emo one!  People are so insane.  Yeah - Greenday used to be AWESOME!  Before everyone started to use labels on them.  They arent "punk" anymore!  Punk isnt pain stream - eveything about punk goes agianst being mainstream!?  Except 99% of kids my age cant see that.    Angry

They should probably just dress like the first picture. Their stage gimmick seems like they're ripping off the Icarus Line.

Check out their first CD "I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love". It is alot less polished and raw than 3 Cheers...

At least check out the song "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville" This is my favorite song of theirs.

really hate this band...alot. The whole "emo" trend they started is vile.

Plus one of there guitarists stole zakk wyldes guitar design damn him!!! Singers voice annoying, everything about them.

The only thing i dont mind about this emo band, is they aint one of those """ROAR GRUNT GRUNTT GRUNT *HIGH PITCED* I LOOOOVEEEE YOOUUUUU*** *GRUNT GRUNT* BUT YOU TOOK IT AWAY"  Thats just god damn annoying so at least they dont do that.

Emos just a fad like nu metal was. Though at least nu metal was decent. But hey, just my oppinion which will either get ignored or flamed until it is nothing but ash.

Ummm they arent "emo".

"Emo" is like Simple Freaking Plan!?  My Chemical Romance actually has some decent musical ability in them.  They play good songs. They dont sting stupid "Stab My Heart Out Because She Left Me"!?  Which I have some form of respect for.  They are fairly original for the type of music that is popular now-a-days.  They're not so bad.

Am i the only one who has noticed that "Helena"`s video is a horrible rip-off to November Rain??

Its a funeral.  No Wedding?!  Its nothing like November Rain.  There are probably hundreds of music videos set at funerals?!  Are they all rip-offs aswell?

Thanks for the advice, Ive heard for awhile about how their first album is alot less commercial, but with no paycheck this week, I was only able to pick up 3 Cheers.

Pretty cool to see their are some fans, and haters hihi of MCR

Just finished reading in Rolling Stone how their 8 tracks into their new album and they think it will outdue their first 2...

Ill post it if I get a sec Smiley

i absolutly adore them, they are a wonderful band and that lead singer is damn hot!

Ive liked them for a very long time now... like back when they released their first album, im upset that they are all popular now and when i go to their concerts im like one of the oldest people there! They are one of the best bands ive ever seen live... i saw them open for the USED at taste of cahos and they absolulty put on a show 10times better than the USED did after them. I then again saw them Nov 29th and they were amazin! i cant even put into words how much i love these guys!

my favorite song by them is Honey, this mirror isnt big enough for the two of us, and i was extremly happy when they played it when i saw them and all the little 14yr olds didnt know any of the words!

My sister saw them on that tour too, and she said alot of people were screaming for MCR during the Used's set because they were not even half as good as 'Chemical. Seeing them has to be pretty insane doesnt it? Like not the usual mosh pits/ crowd surfings, but just nonstop adrenaline from the audience I bet. Hopefully Ill catch them on the next tour ok

Just downloaded "Drowning Lessons" and it kicks serious ass Grin
