Are you kidding? Everybody knows Deep Purple's trademark song was "Smoke On The Water".? It's the most instantly recognizable riff in rock history.

Actually the first song I ever heard by Deep Purple was Highway Star, sorry dude But thats just me  peace

Are we talking about songs most people recognise or their first big hit? Because (in the U.K anyway) if we mean most recognisable then SCOM is G n' R's and We Are The Champions/We Will Rock You is Queen's. And Deep Purple's is definatly Smoke On Water.

I was talking most recognisable song, but here (not UK) Iron Maiden is NOTB, Queen is Bohemian Raphsody, Deep Purple still is Highway Star  Undecided

Some of these listings are just pathetic... I mean some of the songs aren't trademark at all.

Here are mine though:

Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive (Very much a trademark on them)
Guns N' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle
Poison - Every Rose Has It's Thorn
Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar on Me
Boston - Amanda
REO Speedwagon - Keep on Lovin' You
Cinderella - Nobody's Fool
Candlebox - Far Behind
Bush - Comedown
Skid Row - I Remember You
STP - Interstate Love Song
Metallica - Enter Sandman
Alice in Chains - Rooster (I don't care what anyone says)
Journey - Open Arms
Tom Petty - Free Fallin
Hootie and the Blowfish - Let Her Cry

those are what I call trademark songs.

Deep Purple's trademark is definately Smoke on the Water. I don't know where you live where Highway Star is thought of that way, because most people I know who hear the song have no idea its deep purple.
