May 16th, 1998.

Hearts win the Scottish Cup. For the first time in 40 years the perpetual bridesmaid of scottish football took home the prize. I'd seen my team be destroyed 5-1 by rangers two years before, then we fought back from two nil down the year before to have a gascoigne inspired rangers beat us four two. The odds were against us, as they always are against the old firm; but what made our victory all the more unlikely was that this was Walter Smith's last games as rangers manager and the last time most of the "9 In A Row" rangers team that had dominated Scottish footbal for a decade would play for them.

However everything changed that beautiful, sun gorged day in May. Thirty-two seconds in and we get a penalty. Colin Cameron slots it away. Cue pandemoinum and tears. After 52 minutes Stephane Adam ghosts past Lorenzo Amoruso to make it two nil. Not wanting to let the tension down, Ally McCoist, who else, scored with ten minutes to go and everyone feared the worst. From then on it was backs against the wall. But we did it.

I've never seen anything like it. There were hundred, probably a thousand or so fans who couldnt take it and sat on the concourse for most of the match it was that unbearable. I dont blame them.

The next few days were like a dream. A cup fnal parade through the centre of edinburgh with nearly a quarter of a million people crawling along side the victory bus. It was special. (it also helped that our rivals hibs had been relegated two weeks earlier, on my birthday no less. Everybody now....

We won the Cup and the Hibs went down - doo dah, doo dah,

1973 FA Cup Final - Leeds 0-1 Sunderland

Leeds were one of the top teams in europe and had won the FA Cup 2 years in a row. Whilst my Sunderland were in Division 2(Now the Championship, Premiership was Division1 at the time) and we were almost in administration, but then Bob Stokoe(R.I.P) came to the club turned us around & Ian Porterfield scored the only goal to win us the Cup at Wembley

1990 - Italy World Cup, round of 16, Almighty god Diego Maradona does what he wants with brazilian defense, passes the ball laying on the grass to Claudio ''The Son Of The Wind'' Caniggia, and more than 100 million brazilians start to cry.

Good old memories. Back to the reality, Brazil kicked our ass last sunday. Kak? is better than Ronaldinho, but less mediatic.
