Live at Tokyo Dome please. This is the show with the insane singing on Nightrain correct? And the crazed laugh during Better. ITs this very show that they played their longest set too right? 3 hours 40 minutes. Goddamn I want so bad. So what is this Locker. Is there a something something somewhere? More then just the samples but same quality.

When. Please someone clarify. The badass 3 hour 40 minute concert with the crazed badass vocals during Nighttrain and the laugh in Better is all the same show, that we heard amazing sound samples of, is going to be available to us, in its entirety... soon? Is this what we are talking about. Do I have that shit right? Hmmm...

I guess these are gonna be released by Sylph Record. They did damn good job in 2007 Osaka(boot called 'Never Too Late'), so I guess these have good quality as well. I wonder how's the quality of DVD.

That video looks cool, and not "too" expensive compared to the CDRs...but still it'd be nicer to see it on DIME from the filmer himself. Of course if he wants to get some money in exchange of his boot, that's his right.

from the first post:

①②③AUD+AUD-SHOT
④AUD-SHOT

So i think it isn't a PRO-Shot dvd, so it could be filmed through the screens from audience. And if you look at the screenshot and the colours, to me those look like filmed from the screens. Of course i hope that this is the full DVD with Pro-shot quality that those leaked youtube-clips have (CD and WTTJ) or could it be just a coincidence that those clips leaked and now there's a full dvd coming?

For those who are gonna buy it. Take special attention since theres two dvds.. Theres one with Osaka only and theres one with Osaka and Tokyo audio and video.

The dvds have the same cover so take special attention to that, just warning, since i went to their site today and got confused  : ok:

the screenshots can be photoshopped so they look better. I think the real screenshot bootleg should look like the youtube videos, with not that rich colors etc. but yeah, the leaked "proshot" at youtube can in fact be screenshot.

And would you explain the soundboard source for those proshots?

Also, it wasn't a leak - it came from that Japanese GNR site hosted by Universal, I believe. But those are not from this DVD, as it says clearly "SCREEN-SHOT 194min".

That clip from 'kayagun' has been out there since the show happened, and is the only screen-shot part of his filming. If you look at his other videos, they are shot from the crowd to the stage. It is shaky at sometimes and distant, if he filmed the screen the whole time, it would be real nice. I tried talking to him about it, but a language barrier was a big problem and he didn't understand me. Though it does look as if this person moved during the performance, cause he has one video "SPECTATOR" where it is taken from behind the mixing area with the crew. Then a few others look from the crowd, some have distorted audio/video and others don't.

The "pro-shot" indeed looks pro-shot but could also be someone's screen shot that is touched up and resized. I heard it was from the Japan Interscope website or something but they could have just found it online (unlikely, but possible). Just sounds to me that it isn't a direct SBD, cause I've heard a lot better audio coming from SBDs in the past.

I didn't understand you were talking about the pro-shot we've seen before the tour. I thought you were talking about a pro-shot from these recent dates in Japan. I guess the pro-shot from the TV promotion and all was from the 2007 tour.

Indeed I think the screenshot from Osaka will look like the one from Seoul.

It has separeted channels for guitars (IE: Bumblefoot is in the left speaker in the mix, while Ashba goes right). The low bandwith don't really helps, but I'm 100% sure the audio came from a soundboard recording.

audio not a problem with replacing. the thing i'm some more worried about is if they made a GOOD video transfer around 4gb each disc. we have 2 discs each ~100min.....chance is there for fucking up the quality like getting 2,5gb each disc with bad Cam LPCM audio.....huge pixealtion would be the result.
let hope this isnt the case.

off topic now: but if they dont play civil war, estranged and perfect crime in Canada i'm gonna blame them even more  :o

Yes, but that boot is from Tokyo.
Osaka audio boots are 'Bar Trek Adventure In Osaka', 'Osaka Monarchy', 'Democracy At Osaka'.
We already have 'Bar Trek' and rest of them we gonna get soon.

this doesnt sound being a normal AUD source, at least the guitars and Axl vocals must have come from some soundboard or from some unreal mars technology tapingwise. they mixed in some AUD though (hearing fans often). anyway the result is kicking, thanks to all people responsible for that!

About the pro-shot footage, it was from a Japanese news site.

In many venues, with the artists approval, some media (TV channels, newspapers, etc.) can stay for the first 3 songs of any show and film and/ or take pictures (pro). They're in the area between the crowd and the stage. I know this because my ex-wife was journalist and she covered a few shows like this, including one by Ben Harper where I've been to (but no GN'R).
I bet this news site has the first 3 songs of the GN'R show in this quality, which should be Jungle, Chinese Democracy and It's So Easy.

About the DVD, we'll see in a few days how it will work out with the sync and all.

as I said above, it's actually a screenshot.

Local TVs in Japan shown footage from an audience screenshot, even though they could film the beginning of the show themselves? It could happen actually but anyway lol. It doesn't change the fact that most media can film and take pics during the first 3 songs at most shows (depending on the artist and venue).

The point anyway is not really if it's a screenshot or pro-shot or whatever. I think the point was, will it be available for fans to watch? I don't think so. Local TVs in Osaka and Tokyo must have some footage but it's really rare when they share such footage (or just some excerpts like it happened in Taipei).

suntorytime, did you record what they broadcasted on local TVs there? Could you upload it? ;)
zombux, about the link you posted, I'm wondering, why is the guy talking about a Jan. release? Is he talking about the bootlegs? It sounds likely I guess. :)

how do you know that the clip is a screenshot? the jungle / cd clips look perfectly pro-shot, zero shaking, crystal clear definition... and do you really think a japanese TV program will use ''amateur recordings'' to broadcast?

That video is from the boot 'Democracy at Osaka' released by Sylph Record. And Yes, it's a audience shot.
But 20 secs clips of WTTJ people talkin' about is definitely proshot with soundboard recording. It's not from same source with that.

And since it was the DVD was filmed from the screen, it's a screen shot. I don't see how hard this is understand, we got two minutes or so of proshot, and a DVD of screen shot en route. Just because some one filmed the screen does not make it a pro shot.

Yes, the DVDR will be the screenshot. Japanese media do have the first few songs in real pro-shot though (at least the first 3 songs I think), but I don't think they have the whole show.
So for now the fans will see the screenshot, we'll probably have to edit the sound though.

still it's odd to me. screens are usually different from proshot video. I mean some more art etc, not just the band. media usually get first 3 songs or so at GNR shows, so they can record their clips and take photos, but I don't remember similar screenshot-proshot situation during the last 10 years of GNR... or is my memory totally wrong?

You could see from some of the audience shot 2009 YouTube clips that a lot of the time the screens were being used to project other footage (like a ballerina for much of This I Love). Presumably thats what we'll be looking at on this DVD, unless some kind of mix of audience and screen-shot is created.

GN'R has more screens now (I think).

There's two (one on each side of the stage) and then there's a bunch in the middle that show stuff like videos during the songs.

were those screens on all the 2009 shows and are planed to be on every upcoming show? it gives it a more professional touch IMO.
i'm also asking cause in 2006 they dropped them occasionally in europe....some shows had them, others didnt. i didnt exactly get the reason for it, only guessing it could save some costs.

The set I got is "Democracy at Tokyo" and it contains the 3CDR for Tokyo (not sure if it's the same as the other versions) and the 2DVR for Osaka.

I will upload the DVDR first. Yes it will be on DIME.

Thanks to the members of the GN'R France staff who bought it with me because it was pretty expensive!

I will also upload MP3 and AVI versions because I don't care about conversions, as I didn't tape it.

Thank the other guys from the GN'R France staff too. :)

Currently ripping the DVDs, scanning the covers and taking some screenshots.

As I said earlier I got the boxset called "Democracy at Tokyo", which contains the Tokyo 3CDR + Osaka 2DVDR.

Will bought Tokyo CD and it include Osaka DVD as a bonus. If you buy the CD, you don't need to buy the DVD seperately.

I think he was talking about 3CDR ;).
The DVDR sound is in LPCM stereo, 1536 kbps.

One thing I don't understand: the video and sound quality seem a lot better than what's on YouTube. I wonder if it's the same source. Maybe the other one was a pre-release? The sound is not as saturated.

Some MP3 samples here: http://www.mediafire.com/gnrfrance

It's in the folder called "Democracy at Tokyo".

Thank you Will, in my opinion "I don't Care about time" and "Destroyer" sound better but still a very good sound

Good Sound...

It depends on which format she uploaded on Youtube. Probably those already was lossy clips converted from original DVD.

Plus, when you upload clips on Youtube, it has to be converted again to FLV file automatically which has poor quality.

Maybe the compression to MP4 fucked things up?

Video quality looks fine to me. If you think it won't look good, you don't have to download it though (pixels in the screenshots are mostly due to JPEG compression, I used Video LAN to do it). The sound is a bit saturated when you play it loud, but it's already pretty fuckin' loud!

I have to fix something in my folders on that comp and I'll make the torrent. I'll be back later.

lpcm audio in a 2 dvd-5 of a 3:40 hrs show? that's really weird... could have never imagine that was possible.

anyway, i will be downloading this as soon as it is up

bring the 3rd audio source on!  :peace:

This is the DVD of Osaka, so it's a bit shorter than Tokyo (total duration is like 3 hours 14 minutes). ;)
But yeah, both DVDs are full! I'm finishing the info file and scans and it'll be good. I have to reboot the computer due to updates though!

Hey, try watching the intro of Catcher in the Rye...

In the Youtube clips, the person who recorded have some problems focusing on the screen. If this DVD has the same problem, so it's the same source and mp4 compression has fucked the audio, like VoodooChild said.

Other thing that's really strange... in the end of YCBM IRS (youtube version), it says to "change to next disc", but neither of the 3 discs (according to the text of the site which was selling this dvd) ends on You Could Be Mine IRS

Sorry, I threw it away. And no, the box I took only contains Tokyo 3CDR + Osaka 2DVDR (it was cheaper).

As for the DVD, let me check, yes it has the same focus issue at the beginning of Catcher In The Rye, so it must be the same source.
