Not including dvds or videos. What is the best gig youve been to? And the highlights of the gig.     I saw megadeth in Sydney Aus not too long ago and it blew my mind, It kicked ass on the last time i saw them. The highlight had to be when they played " My Last Words" My adrenaline and the whole good vibe lasted for days after that gig... Ahhh memories.... ok

The best gig I've been to is probably Tool in 2001. They just sounded incredibly great, that wall of sound they were able to create was simply beautiful. The highlight of the gig might've been the first song they played, The Grudge.

Another awesome live moment I must mention is Opeth playing the last three minutes of Deliverance.. those who the song, know what I'm talking about? smoking

EDIT: Ah, screw everything I said above: The Dillinger Escape Plan is without a shadow of doubt the best live act I've ever seen, how could I forget them. Man, they blew my mind. I still remember how people were just looking at each other with their mouths wide open, baffled at what they were seeing and hearing. I'd kill to see them again some day.

Backyard Babies 10/2004, Helsinki, Tavastia

The highlight was Brand New Hate, well, the whole encore was absolutely amazing!
The showwas recorded by Finnish TV and parts of it ended up on an official DVD.

My review?s somewhere here http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/board/index.php?topic=8474.20

gnr at the spectrum in philly (june 1991). the illusion albums weren't out yet, but the new songs sounded awesome. and they were just so on. the whole band had tons of energy. izzy was still there. axl interacted with the crowd alot. they played for almost 3 hours.

but the highlight of the night was when halfway through WTTJ, axl stops the band and starts screaming at some guy in the front that was starting trouble. he offered to fight him and told him he would kick his ass. i was stunned and a little scared because i'm expecting a riot at this point. but the security guards quickly got the guy outta there, and then axl says "take it from the top". the place went nuts as everyone got to hear one of the best gnr songs played twice.

Definitely Iron Maiden at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York in January of 2004.  Dance Of Death had just came out so we got to hear a bunch of songs off that...and that album rules so that was cool.  It was so amazing seeing them so up close.  Hammerstein isn't a very big venue.  The highlight was when they played Hallowed Be Thy Name cause the crowd absolutely flipped shit for that song.  I've seen a lot of amazing shows, but this one is still #1.

Mastodon in exeter this Feb.  That band could go very far.  Have only seen two other gigs - Motorhead last November and Napalm Death a couple of weeks ago, so healthy competition although not much of it!
