Title: How Many GNR 24K Gold MFSL Albums Were Made
Post by: NorthwindNS on March 24, 2006, 06:30:57 PM
Does anyone know how many thousands of these albums were made. I contacted a guy from MFSL but he said this information is net yet made available to the general public.

I have UYI II, one SEALED, and one UN-SEALED. I also have GNR Lies and AFD. Are you interested? UYI II goes for $150 and up on EBay.

Would someone who owns these answer this?  I'm searching to purchase all of the CDs in this format and would like to know if I should even rip them?

I have lies and uyi 2, as far as the sound goes, they do sound a little cleaner. However they're not quite as "loud" as the regular discs. Somebody else who knows more than I do about the process can explain better, but I remember reading something about the gold discs are made from the original digital format and the regular discs are made from the analog format that has been converted for cassettes and records. I hope that makes some sense to you. Anyway if you can get a good deal on them they're worth it, but I wouldn't go crazy on e-bay trying to get them.
