right but what about CD? Its basically axl telling people what to do, the lineup is still a good band thouh

I wouldn't go that far its Axl's idea's but other people such as BBF are putting their effort in and ideas aswell. Which is why I honestly think it is taking a long time for this to come together , because Axl and Slash had the right musical ground back in the day , Axl had pieces like November Rain and Slash accented them without ever overdoing it. Axl wants to find that again , and its hard but I think he may have got it.

he doewnt have to look too far, just in velvet revolver oh well

GnR works now because people have come together from diverse musical pasts and are helping in the making of 21st century Guns N' Roses. I bet anyone the musicians that are in this band will have alot of contributions in Chinese Democracy and Axl being Captain of that paticular ship, the material should be/is amazing. Thats how bands work, you don't really want 5 guys who like the same type of music... because what is it you are invidually bringing to the table? short answer: nothing

I disagree with both of you. First off NO ONE can tell Axl where to look for his musical partners , sure at one time slash and co' did make a great time but as stated in the 21st century GNR it just doesn't work. ALTHOUGH I disagree the original GNR had pretty much the same influence and liked the same music and made AMAZING material.

Its ok to play cover if u are into that.

There are bands who play cover and original and do very well.

I personally find cover to be a waste of fucking time.

Learn all the songs u want but once u get into that studio, its only about WHAT U can create. All the ability to play every cover song helps u none and it actually hurts some people cause it makes them less original cause everything they play sounds like something already made.

I purposelly don't play cover cause I don't want my style influenced and I dont want to risk ripping someone off. If I don't learn cover, I can't rip off a song in my own. *unless its totally coincidental.*

Once again, not to offend anybody but I personally view cover bands and guitar players as HOBBYIST and I call those of us who write and bust our ass to create our own identity and style Musicians and Artists.

Tribute bands are the lamest people on the planet to me. They m ake me nauseous dressing up and pretending to be someone else. I think its completely pathetic.

Just the "you don't really want 5 guys who like the same type of music.." part

Yea its the truth , guitar players on cover bands are hobbyist , artist are people in original bands. But throwing a cover in once in awhile is never that harmful , look at GNR lol ,  Tribute Bands really make me laugh , especially when they LOOK or attempt to look like a band.....sad  beer

you need common ground
