It's CLEARLY not coming this year.  I for one am done checking forums for the rest of '06...Yes, I am disappointed, but I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation, right?  Undecided

the actual quote is out there, but he said it. I was watching MTV at the time.

not to mention the commonly referenced number of tuesdays left in the year on the GN'R myspace page.

Even though it's pretty logical for it to come out Jan 16.th 2007, the day the tour ends (a tuesday).

I'd bet everything I have on the album not being out this year.  And if it does happen to be released, there is no way all of the marketing and promotion is going to be effective as it could have been if this was done PROPERLY.

I was dissapointed with UYI 1 & 2, does that mean I am not a true fan? I think Fanboi might be the word you were looking for. Fans in general are free thinking and don't automatically love everything thier favorite band does.

He also said it on the Eddie Trunk show.  Axl said on that show that the album would be out in "fall or late fall".  Sorry buddy but saying that Axl never said it would be out this year.  You should've checked things first.  Unless you did what I think Axl and Merck wants us to do and that is to forget they ever said CD would be out this year.

Because albums don't get released in Europe on the 25th, and according to Merck the album will be released one day early on the old continent.
