Marshall Being hear on a GNR forum id assume you like the big crunch with thick distortion with a great kick...Id take my shot at a 50 watt marshall combo defaentyl look for something Tube that will give u the balls. I have a small marshall only tube pre amp in it but its great has great defenition.

you may first instead of looking for wattage for how much $$ you want to spend and what you're going to use it for... and if even if you buy atube amp.. even a combo tube amp is way more costly than a 50 watt solid state amp...

50-100w tube amp and 2x12 or 4x12 cab. 50w is almost as loud as 100w, both are really f*cking loud. 100w usually have more low end and sound more aggresive. Closed back cabs are key for that hard rock sound. Open back combos sound too open and lack that tight low end for the most part.

Well, U can find the silver jubilee 25/50 combo in a 1X12 or 2X12 from around $1000 to $1600... That would probly be your best bet if your into the GNR type music...

No combo is going to give you G N R type tones unless you hook it up to a 4x12 cab. Open back combos and closed back cabs sound very different, even if the amp driving them is the same.
