Ok Nominate your Top 10 albums of the 1990's. This is prolly my favorite decade in music and I had a Really tough time coming up with only 10 Albums. My Top 10 are: Alice In Chains ? Tripod Blind Melon ? Self-Titled Megadeth ? Countdown to Extinction Metallica ? The Black Album Nirvana ? Nevermind Pantera ? Far Beyond Driven Pearl Jam ? Ten Rage Against the Machine ? Self-Titled Stone Temple Pilots ? Tiny Music?Songs From the Vatican Giftshop Tool ? Undertow **Remember no more than 10 nominations per person and no Greatest Hits, No Live Albums, No Guns N Roses or GnR side projects allowed. If there is a tie at the end, my nominations will be the tie breakers, otherwise my nominations don't count. I'll leave the thread open until next Monday. Start nominating

Bon Jovi - These Days Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral Soundgarden - Superunknown Pearl Jam ? Ten Pantera - Cowboys From Hell Pantera - Far Beyond Driven Skid Row - Slave To The Grind Poison - Flesh & Blood Ugly Kid Joe - America's Least Wanted

I didn't become aware of them until about October of 1990. My room mate in the Air Force was a big fan of theirs. It was around that time that the video for Epic came out. To be honest, at the time that wasn't the type of music I listened to, so me not hearing about them doesn't mean much.

FnM was a really, really alternative style of music, back when alternative was alternative in the truest sense of the word. I didn't get into them until Angel Dust came out but i think I got The Real thing like 2 weeks later I used to compare them to RHCP, but while Mike Patton continued along a musical path far removed from mainstream, RHCP turned panzy @ Sakib, if it's rock it's rock, my idea of musical genres is pretty blurred whether it's U2 or Morbid Angel it just makes it much more simple. Besides what are we gonna do in the 60's? Tool is far removed from the Beatles and early Stones but it's all rock my freind. Should I maybe remove "& Roll" from the title?

I did see Vanilla Ice in Columbia, S.C in 2000 ? He had a complete makeover...shorter hair, tattoes all over, and most of all..the music. It was just like a limp bizkit-Linkin Park hybrid. It was a fun show...the girls were asked to go on stage and take their tops off. Lot's of them did.?

I did see Vanilla Ice in Columbia, S.C in 2000 ? You are bringing out all my dirty little secrets today. I know Rob/ Vanilla Ice. One of the guys I work with goes dirt bike riding with him. He lives down here in Davie, FL. In all honesty he is a cool guy, I don't understand why he comes off as such an ass on t.v.

Of all those, Megadeth and WASP, Pantera are rock n roll
They're metal. All of them are metal. It's depressing trying to find good 90's rock, so I picked metal bands. Hell, even the 80's had few really good rock and roll bands. Rock was really good in the 70's, obviously. In fact, when we get to the 70's, I'll probably have more rock than metal. Skid Row, Ozzy Osbourne, and Skid Row are metal, too. A lot of the "cock rock" bands are truly metal bands that were thrown in with the likes of Poison and Enuff Z' Nuff. Def Leppard was metal, Motley Crue was metal, and Twisted Sister is METAL.

looks like we got quite a few posts here so I'm thinking I'll be starting the voting moday afternoon
but i wanna make sure with everyone, cuz of all the crazy activity on the board lately. So what's the general consensus? Should i keep the thread open a bit for more nominations? or do you think by monday it'll be enough?

I would say monday should do, just glancing over the few pages i think it's quite obvious NOW which albums will be making the list, i don't think they'll be many votes beyond monday that will make any relative difference...

As of right now, approx. 100 albums have been nominated and there are a clear ten that would make it through. I tell ya the 90's kicked some major ass I'm a bit disappointed that Candlebox wasn't nominated at all though (even though I figured as much that's why i didn't put them on my list)

I'm a fan, but it's just that even though Powertrip is an awesome album, it doesn't even make it to my top-30 of the 90s. Too much good music came out that year!
