1990 is when they actually hit it big. The Real Thing didn't catch on right away. Release date: June 20, 1989

I didn't become aware of them until about October of 1990. My room mate in the Air Force was a big fan of theirs. It was around that time that the video for Epic came out. To be honest, at the time that wasn't the type of music I listened to, so me not hearing about them doesn't mean much.

Burzum- Aske
Megadeth- Rust In Peace
Pantera- Cowboys From Hell
Cynic- Focus
Death- Spiritual Healing
Opeth- Blackwater Park
WASP- The Crimson Idol
Dream Theater- Awake
Iced Earth- Burnt Offerings
The Chasm- Deathcult For Eternity: The Triumph
The 90's had some really fine music that no one seems to care about.?
Of all those, Megadeth and WASP, Pantera are rock n roll

FnM was a really, really alternative style of music, back when alternative was alternative in the truest sense of the word. I didn't get into them until Angel Dust came out but i think I got The Real thing like 2 weeks later
I used to compare them to RHCP, but while Mike Patton continued along a musical path far removed from mainstream, RHCP turned panzy
@ Sakib, if it's rock it's rock, my idea of musical genres is pretty blurred whether it's U2 or Morbid Angel
it just makes it much more simple. Besides what are we gonna do in the 60's? Tool is far removed from the Beatles and early Stones
but it's all rock my freind. Should I maybe remove "& Roll" from the title?

I'll give D or SLC some ammo here. I did see MC Hammer at the University of Illinois in October or November of 1990. I was in tech school in the Air Force, we we're given free tickets
I just wanted to get the hell off the base

That was a long time I go...(this could be a topic for thread by the way...bands you seem live that you are ashamed to tell) ?
I did see Vanilla Ice in Columbia, S.C in 2000 ?
He had a complete makeover...shorter hair, tattoes all over, and most of all..the music. It was just like a limp bizkit-Linkin Park hybrid. It was a fun show...the girls were asked to go on stage and take their tops off. Lot's of them did.?

You are bringing out all my dirty little secrets today.
I know Rob/ Vanilla Ice.
One of the guys I work with goes dirt bike riding with him. He lives down here in Davie, FL. In all honesty he is a cool guy, I don't understand why he comes off as such an ass on t.v.

They're metal. All of them are metal. It's depressing trying to find good 90's rock, so I picked metal bands. Hell, even the 80's had few really good rock and roll bands. Rock was really good in the 70's, obviously. In fact, when we get to the 70's, I'll probably have more rock than metal.
Skid Row, Ozzy Osbourne, and Skid Row are metal, too. A lot of the "cock rock" bands are truly metal bands that were thrown in with the likes of Poison and Enuff Z' Nuff. Def Leppard was metal, Motley Crue was metal, and Twisted Sister is METAL.
