Its something different and will be a big surprise

« on: June 07, 2004, 10:46:52 AM »

I was reading Stinsons bio on his website and this is what it said regarding the players on his new album....
GN'R lead guitar player Richard Fortus (alumnus of the latter day Psychedelic Furs and Love Spit Love as well as zillions of sessions) contributes guitars and cellos.

I dont know if its fact, maybe Im reading too much into it. I wouldnt mind having 2...

But then I realize who would play ryhthm? So Im not sure if thats accurate....just a thought.

Don't read too much into it

All three guitarists play lead at some point or another

If memory serves Richard does this on Rocket Queen (last solo) and one of the November Rain solo's and i'm sure there are others

I doubt Axl would spent 10 years insisting on having three guitarists only to abandon this because Bhead left, i'm sure there looking for a replacement - even if its Axl himself.

I very much doubt that they can even find anyone...would you honestly want to spend 2 years in an inactive, continually ridiculed band doing nothing and spend the rest of your career being asked about it?

I wouldn't.

If you listen to Fortus' NR solo, he'd make a pretty good fuckin' lead gutiarist, IMO...Finck can do rhythm.

Fortus does the slide in RQ, solos in nightrain, outro to the blues, think about you, first solo in NR.. There are more I believe.

I know the guy who wrote the bio and he says that he doesn't know the specifics about Fortus' role in gnr. He just assumed it was lead guitarist

So on this occasion, please do not look too deep into this

It would be a good idea, waaayy better than the 3 guitarist thing. But I highly doubt Axl?s doing that.

PULEEEEEEEAAAAAAASE! Like you or anyone else (outside of Slash, Duff, Buckethead and Matt, of course) would actually turn down an offer to be in Guns N' Roses? Hell, I think most people would agree to be imobilized for years, without salary just to say they are officially part of a band like this. It's like saying you wouldn't have joined The Beatles or The Stones if they needed a replacement player.

True, even I ,that I don?t like the new band very much, would accept.
