Its something different and will be a big surprise

« on: December 21, 2004, 11:24:43 PM »

Every now and then I do my own detective work and try to find out some info about the band, album, etc.....

My quest ended with this name....

Tom Lord-Alge

The guy I was talking to who hung out in and around? the studio with the band told me that GNR did 3 straight years of recording with 3 different producers. He then said Tom Lord-Alge was the last of the producers to work with the band in that time period.
Does any1 know anything about him,bio etc.....

The guy I was talking also said he saw Bucket without the mask and said he was a very nice guy and doesnt know what went wrong between Bucket and the band. He said the chemistry between Bucket and the band musically was "phenomenal" though.

He also mentioned that in the early stages GNR would just jam to the old stuff becuase Axl wanted to make sure they can play the old stuff well for a future tour{the 2002 tour)...

thats about it...im going to try and squeeze some more info from this guy. he was really cool.

I know its nothing earth shattering but atleast its? a new name to look into lol....

Edit: Heres some info on the guy...his correct spelling is...Tom Lord-Alge

Nice detective work Shirlock Wink 3 solid years of recording is an intense amount of time to be cooped up in the studio for. We know GnR went through along list of producers through the past years but 3 in particular for the 3 years of recording in question could relate to a 3 album theory couldnt it? His name sounds extremely familiar, but is he the producer Axl has taken over from? The fact he said musically phenomenal chemistry makes me drool at the mouth wishing Buckethead was still in the band. The fact he said the band jammed alot in the studio is a first hand answer to whoever started that thread afew days ago questioning whether they did in fact take a breather and just rock out as a unit. Thanks for the info, clears up misconceptions about this "not being a band, or a unity" and only makes me look forward to CD more.

Three years?! My god thats a while.  I think the CD is done.  Axl is just nit-picking on which songs he wants most to be released to public.  2005 is the year of Axlism, lol.
