Title: Will Finck agree ?!
Post by: RnT on March 31, 2004, 02:20:46 PM
what makes me more nervous is that fick or richard can?t fill the buckehead?s solos live ... imagine all the work that BHEAD did for the new album... and now axl have to replace this guitarrist... this means another time to rehearsheals, the "new" guitarrist will have to learn the old songs AND participate on the new ones... and to end my though, will fick "agree" to let the new guitarrist be the "lead/fast guitar" ?! ( just remember that finck x buckethead rumor some time ago... )  :P

Hopefully Finck will be so upset he will run off to Trent and never soil the GNR name or solo's again......

I know what you?re saying
I like his style, but I didn?t like his guitar sound in GNR  ...

Who knows...

They may have a band meeting and see what they want to do or who they want to bring in and audition..

but does Fink really have a choice??  he agrees with Axl or he quits...

I truly belive Axl will take in to consideratin what Fink, Stinson, and the rest want to do but in the end its gonna be his call....

I think the rest of the band members must be drinking the cool-aid that Axl is feeding them, otherwise they would have left already. They must believe in the music and are willing to wait. Based upon Axl's letter, maybe Bucket's contributions don't dominate the new record like many of us thought?

I think with Buckethead gone, Finck is THE lead guitarist. Any replacement they get will be (like Fortus), an additional player, but not an additional lead. I don't think Axl ever intended to have two leads... so he'll stick with three guitarists (which i like), but Finck will decide what parts he plays. Any new guitarist would have to be extremely talented and probably well known to change that.

I care a whole lot more about Finck being in GNR than Bucket, that's for sure. Finck is a HUGE part of GNR to me. Like someone said, I'm sure it will be a very democratic decision amongst the band, seeing as they've actually been together longer and are tighter as a unit, instead of just being "hired guns".

Finck had a stint before with this project too, so he is/was? more likely involved in the writing the newer material if it ever sees the light of day. I personally didnt like the maiming of the soloing of NR, but his SCOM was excellent, and so was his part on Madagascar...including backup vocals.

  dear friends,
i want to make this opportunity to comment on gnr's recent withdrawal
from the rock-in-lisbon festival. i was disappointed, as were the lot
of us, to come to grips that we won't be performing there as
anticipated. my bags have been packed for some time awaiting such an
event. i'm chomping at the bit to get out and really shake things up
with gnr and look forward to the release of the new album and
ultimately to tour and to tour.
  'til then - love, r ob i         n

How many of the Finck haters have seen him play IN PERSON with GnR? I'd be willing to wager not too many.

Dudes, i seriously doubt that they remove bucket's parts since they're obviosly not obligated to do that. Like Brian may's contributions is still there.

My guess is that BH will  be mentioned in the booklet as a additional musician like the other involved (piazza, among others) or a special thank you...

What do you think?

On the other hand did mr. fortus use little time to replace huge's guitar's parts
It's fucked up if they remove BH's work... :-\

i'll be talking like i know something about robin....of course i don't it's all based solely on my feelings.... :peace:

robin wouldn't need to agree on anything. robin is a cool dude who would just accept whoever it was and the style they brought to the band.

robin would continue to play the sections he wrote/played in the way he did in the last tour and the new guy could either play bucket's bits or intoduce his own bits. (unless the new guy is a utter wanker who wants to shred all over robin's cool 'The Blues' solo.  )

whoever played along side him wouldn't affect robin and neither would robin try and dictate how or what parts the new guy could do (especially as robin plays more soulfully he probably wouldn't want to play like a fast fretboard wanker anyway  ;))

finally, i thought the rumours about not getting along with bucket, were more based upon the Bucket's ego than style of playing.

Finck Rocks...

I don't care if you like the guy or his style.

He rocks harder than Buckethead.

Keep the faith Robin...

I sat infront of Robin for 2 concerts in 2002 back to back for 2 hours strait.

He was amazing I must have screamed his name 50 times. I was freaking. He rocked!!!!

I have been an Axl fan for since 87' and thought I would not take my eyes off him, but there is something sooo charismatic about Robin. He feels every note of the song.

I was front row, there was only a security guard to the left of me

Believe me the only thing interesting to the GNR fans about bucket was his attire!

He is one of the most talented guitar players around but his style of guitar playing, I never thought mixed well with GNR. My opinion.

 : ok:

Finck is a great guitar player, i just dont get why so many people bash him.
The BH bashers bashed BH because he played too clean and people bash robin because he plays too loose.
You just cant please some people and its sad.
