Title: Incesticide Liner Notes Post by: Mattman on October 24, 2004, 04:29:07 PM I've heard that Kurt Cobain wrote some really good, if disturbing, liner notes for Nirvana's Incesticide album. But the copy I bought doesn't contain anything besides song credits and some odd photos of the band. Does anybody else have this album? If so, do you have the liner notes in the CD booklet?
I don't know, maybe after Kurt's suicide they decided to delete the liner notes in future copies...? Title: Re: Incesticide Liner Notes Post by: Skeletor on October 24, 2004, 06:44:36 PM I think I have the same version as you, there's not much text there. I've bought mine around '96, so it could well be it was changed before.

Since I got mine in 1992 when it was released and I live in Europe, I never got those liner notes. /jarmo Title: Re: Incesticide Liner Notes Post by: Mattman on October 24, 2004, 10:04:57 PM Huh. Well, I guess that clears it all up. Thanks jarmo : ok:
Title: Re: Incesticide Liner Notes Post by: kj_jive on October 24, 2004, 10:07:47 PM Those were a little strange. I didn't find them disturbing, they were actually pretty positive and uplifting...if not aimless. Nothing special there...i can't see why they'd be removed though.
Title: Re: Incesticide Liner Notes Post by: Booker Floyd on October 25, 2004, 11:08:17 AM I got mine a very long time ago, and I do recall the liner notes. They touched on Kurts favorite records and insisted that mysogynistic/homophobic fans not buy their records, among other things.. From what I understand, they originally contained more scathing messages to media members (Lynn Hirschberg in particular) but Kurt was asked to tone it down.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. So what you're trying to say is, Kurt was going to start ranting about all those punks in the press that want to start shit by printing lies instead of the things he said? Hmm...maybe he had more in common with Axl than he'd like to believe...but let's not open THAT can of worms again. Title: Re: Incesticide Liner Notes Post by: Wheres Izzy on October 25, 2004, 09:07:24 PM The version I used to have had Kurt speaking out against these guys who raped a girl while singing the lyrics to the song polly. He referred to them as wastes of sperm if I recall. I don't know if that's what you are talking about. I don't have my copy anymore so I can't give it to you verbatim but that's what i remember.
