Title: Your Song
Post by: journey on October 29, 2004, 12:42:09 AM
Have you ever heard a song that reminds you of yourself?? When you hear/read the lyrics, it seems like it was written about you?

What song or songs best describe you? Or, just a song that you can really relate to.

Pretty much the whole of Pain of Salvation's concept album 'Remedy Lane', and especially the songs 'Waking Every God' and 'Beyond the Pale'.

Estranged gets a mention too.

Could be wrong, but isn't the line "Now I wander threw my daze/try to find my ways..."? No big deal, just pointing it out.

Mine are:

Estranged - GN'R - Whenever I fuck something up, it fits.
Sweet Child O' Mine - GN'R - For my girlfriend, this song is everything and more.
Think About You - GN'R - Again, for my girlfriend - it sums up our relationship perfectly.
The Blues - GN'R - Doesn't really relate directly, but its just an emotional song.
Madagascar - GN'R - Again, when I fuck something up, it's a bit of comfort.
Yesterdays - GN'R - It just reminds me of the past when I'm looking at old pics.

Only Love - The Wildhearts - Its about how love can conquer all, and its true.
One Love, One Life, One Girl - The Wildhearts - Yep, another one that reminds me about my girlfriend.
All That Really Matters - Richie Sambora - From his second solo album, its just a great love song, and again, it makes me think of my girlfriend and our relationship.
Thank You For Loving Me - Bon Jovi - Yep, you guessed it..girlfriend related.
All About Loving You - Bon Jovi - See above.
Love Of a Lifetime - Firehouse - Yep, see above some more.

There's probably alot more than these, but these are the ones that came to mind at first. Yes, there's an abundance of love songs, but you'd have to know me to understand where I'm coming from with them. Long story short: my girlfriend saved me life, and I'll leave it at that.

I will say that the lyric that best describes me is from "Estranged" though: "When I find all of the reasons maybe I'll find another way, find another day, with all the changing seasons of my life, maybe I'll get it right, next time."

-Jeff

Yeah, I forgot about "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" and "Patience." Those are big ones too. And its one that definitely reminds me of her.

I burned her a cd for our 6 month anniversary with a bunch of songs on it that reminded me of her, and I can't remember all of them for the life of me, I know that some others on there that I didn't mention were "Wonderwall" by Oasis, "Right Here In My Arms" by HIM, and various others of the sort.

I can't say that there's any songs for when I fuck up and make her mad, because honestly, and I'm not saying this to make myself sound better than anyone else, but me and my girlfriend have never had an argument, fought, or anything of the sort. And its pretty astounding, because we've been together for a year and month a this point. I just see it as a byproduct of the fact that me and her are meant to be together. (Something I do truly believe.) And leave it at that.

-Jeff

i believe it's 'Now i wander through my days...'? -or i guess it could be- 'Now i wander through my daze'

it's certainly not threw because it's kind of difficult to throw either days or daze

or perhaps that's what you meant and a 14 year old can just out-spell the both of you :headscratch: (althought slashly is only 13 anyway)

No big deal, just pointing it out  :P
