Title: Mastodon Post by: GNR_Green on November 19, 2004, 05:01:02 PM Has anyone else here heard Mastodon's new album Leviathan? I've just given it a first listen and it's got to be one of the best metal albums for years. I've never heard an album like it, it's got a hint of Metallica (pre-Black album) and even a hint of Tool. It's got good songs, excellent musicianship and it's just great basically. The only thing I'm not too keen on is the vocals, but they suit the music and the lyrics are entertaining. My copy's got a 2nd disc which is Audio DVD, but I haven't watched it yet.

They're ready for the big stage now. A tour supporting Slayer and Shitknot, album of the year 2004 in Kerrang and Terrorizer. I can guarantee you wouldn't regret getting Leviathan. This is what should be at the forefront of 'new' music, not shite like Limp Bizkit, Franz Ferdinand and Keane.
