Post by: Gunner80 on November 30, 2004, 05:30:33 PM

Only mods can lock threads.

Why would you want to lock your own threads?

Yes, registered members are technically able to lock the threads they started. At least it's the default option in SMF. Maybe Jarmo removed it.

jarmo, have you decided whether or not you're going to change posting on the board so that when somebody posts anything, it gets e-mailed to us, and we have to verify it before it actually goes online?

I think it would be a good idea.  :)

One board I belong to outside of music had put this liason rule in where whoever joins has to have their first 25 posts approved.. It works great because people who are just stirring shit usually do it the minute they join..

Every noob was like purple color, needed 25 posts to have the ability to post whatever before that everything else must be apporved.

Asign a few people to approve posts so people aren't left waiting around, it works good..

Urm, before we all get too carried away, I was joking.

This isn't a police state.

At least no yet.

By the time it is, none of you will have noticed.  :)

lol, sounds like a fine idea to me. Where do I sign up?

And if I get it on weekends, I'm sure I can find a good few posters who require it 24 hours a day.

Gunner80, Sorry if I messed up your thread too. I couldn?t help n can?t help.

If I'm not misreading that, I think that way a board might be end up being way too biased. I prefer the method of this board. So that  not everyone on this board speaks the same language or the same English. That?s a lil pain in the ass but great.

Maybe a mandatory PayPal account when you register...your first 25 posts are a dollar apiece, then they're free...anybody with 25 posts already would be grandfathered in.... :hihi:

You know, one of the features that I really miss is the ability to just move the mouse pointer onto a users name, and have their original name appear at the bottom of the screen. But the more things change the more they change I guess.
