Title: An Idea About Silver CDs/DVDs.
Post by: GNROSAS on March 12, 2005, 08:42:51 PM
I Like the best Quality in GNR Bootlegs both in content & cover. I like collecting Silver CDs/DVDs of GNR cause they look Great like Official Releases.

Now As you know with Silver CDs/DVDs that are not always contain the best sources and also the are very expensive, and hard to Find. But Most important is that people/Companies who had nothing to do with the Recording, Authoring of the original recordings they are making Big Money my making them Silver,

So Now i think that We who like, want and buy (with stupid Prices) these Silver formats we can try to change the situation.

If Some gnr Collectors gather and pay a small amount of money each one we can produce ourselves the Silver DVDs/CDs of our Best recordings and have them in Best Quality.

The production can be for like limited Amount and be distributed to the people who took part. I think the least amount is 300 copies.

I believe it is stupid that Silver CDS/DVDs are  overpriced and people who have nothing to do with GNR making big Money by Riping us because of our passion to have Great Looking Bootlegs of our band.

Just share your thoughts to the idea and hopefully all people who would be interested to make that happen.

Hmm, how do you plan on pressing them? The equipment needed must be awfully expensive. Same thing to make nice artwork.

There are companies that make Silver CDs/DVDs
The limited amount usually they do for silvers i think is 300 CD/dvds.
You just send them your master CD/DVD with your artwork and they do it.
The process i think it is called pressing or replication.
The dublication is what we are NOT interested as they burn it in CD-R/DVD-R.
Here are some sites with Prices and info.

Thanks, I didn't know you could do that. The prices seem reasonable.

Good luck for setting that up though.

If you don't wanna sell them, you'd need 300 people willing to contribute to this somehow. I could see maybe 50 people willing to do that, but 300 I don't think so. That'd be cool though.
