Title: why lock discussion threads?
Post by: August 18th on June 25, 2005, 09:19:39 AM
no disrespect or anything but why are the moderators locking threads like my thread about robin finck which got 2 replies before it was closed? i couldn't see a thread about him and wanted to talk about robin but i was obviously not allowed to. ??? wtf? isn't this supposed to be a debate forum?

You couldn't see a thread about Robin?

Maybe you need to look harder than just on the first page?

Threads are locked because:

1 - It's been asked before.
2 - It has turned into a pointless online fight.
3 - The information in it has been proven to be false.
4 - All of the above.

You see at the top of the page, there are 8 buttons, the first one being Home.
If you look to the right a little bit more, you will see one that says Search!

This function is fantastic if you want to search for a topic or discussion thread or even if you lose a pet, it can find it. :D
It is really that good, that one day, i would like one of my own installed in my house! ;)

Yeah I got my thread locked and I'd like to know why.

I was suggesting that in Nice Boys... we do a sticky thread listing what GN'R songs are for beginners, which are for intermediate and which are more advanced. People seemed to think it was a good idea but then the thread got locked. I'd do the thread myself but I've been playing less than a year so I wouldn't be any good at distinguishing an intermediate from an advanced song...

I have no idea why your thread here in the admin section got locked ... maybe it got locked by mistake? ???
Since one of the gMods said he would sticky it if it got popular enough, you should go ahead and start it.? : ok:

The fact that you've been playing less than a year seems to me to be a good reason for you to start this type of thread asking the other more experienced musicians here which GNR songs they find easy/difficult to learn/play and why.?
