Title: Ignore feature
Post by: mr_yoshimaroka on October 25, 2005, 02:20:26 PM
Hey Jarmo, could you implement an "add to ignore list" button in a users profile? I can't stand reading a thread and then coming over predictable posts every-time ? just want to ignore those annoying posts.

thanks!

Yeah they have one of these on an NFFC forum i visit, if you dont get on with a certain member(s) you can ignore their posts so it doesnt show what they say. Its very clever. However i love everyone so i wouldnt use it!  :)

An Ignore Feature, I think, is a pretty stupid feature. I mean, what's the point in trying to have proper debates and discussions if you can just ignore people you don't like, it'd just be boring.

I'm not sure an ignore feature would be very efficient. If your point is to ignore stupid shit but other people react to it and quote those posts, then you end up reading them all the same.

This is true.

At this moment, I won't add this kind of feature to the board.

But what about the people that spout shit ignoring everyone else, they'd just continue despite everyone being apposed to what they say. I'm glad Jarmo is against the idea.
