Title: 30 Days
Post by: Evolution on November 09, 2005, 01:54:55 PM
A new channel here in the UK called "More 4" has started showing this series by the creator of Super Size Me by Morgan Spurlock. The plot is basically Spurlock or a volunteer undergoes a life changing experience for 30 days to see what kind of difference it makes to him or what kind of new experiences he goes through.

Only the first two episodes have been shown so far.

In the 1st Spurlock and his fiancee lived on minimum wage for 30 days in a run down area of Columbus,OH. 11 hours a day for $44 is beyond a fucking joke. How does a strained wrist cost $1000+??? Weird.

In the 2nd one that i just watched, a man underwent Hormone injections and supplements for 30 days but he couldn't finish it as the junk had a bad effect on his health. Liver problems and a drop from 80 million to 1 million sperm count in 2 weeks!

Any other posters watch this interesting show?

They aired the gay one this week in the UK. The guy who they chose was so close minded but easy to crack i feel. Complete acceptance of something his parents told him and didn't bother to find out for himself. He didn't even make that big a deal of the 2nd gaybar incident :hihi:

Morgan Sperlock is awesome. These shows he has created are an insight into what society is all about and how different things around us affect us.

I only saw the first one with the minimum wage and it made me feel extremely lucky, lets just say that much.

Anyone seen the "The Last Word" show on More4 also?

Sperlock presented that, the first week 30 days aired...hes an awesome presenter as well.

I should keep an eye out for this.

The best thing about Spurlock i think is the fact he is likeable. When he puts facts to you it doesn't feel like its patronising if that makes sense. Plus he makes this kind of show interesting to watch.
