No big deal.  There was never talk of a New Years show anyway.  Hopefully Stinson will be wrapping up with Soul Asylum soon.

Wonder if Stinson winds up playing more shows for them than GNR...?

maybe axl could handle the bass duties for a NYE show!!!!  : ok:

I'd rather if axl just showed up at a vegas lounge on NYE in some very tacky tiger print plush jacket , took off the wig and did a lounge act ...

"oh , just a gigaloo , and everywhere I go .. people know the part I'm playing ...."

 :peace:

Thats some funny shit, Saul. Jimmy, no chance for the Superbowl. The superbowl lineup has already been announced. I highly doubt that the VMA's will happen without CD. There's no reason for MTV to promote Axl/GNR with nothing backing them. It would be a joke if it occured.

I guess that would be in the vein of Richard Cheese, see his 'Aperitif for Destruction' album: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0008FPIT0/  ;D

Who is the Metallica bassist that left a few years ago? He'd be perfect for the band

Jason Newsted, I think.

Anyway, did anyone REALLY expect a NYE show, let alone Superbowl or Rock in Rio.  Who knows.  Maybe, they'll show up somewhere....in some unexpected place.... someday....again...when the mood happens to hit the lead singer...when karma is right.   Maybe that's why the album hasn't been released.  Has to be the right karma, based on what his seer tells hims.

If Stinson had any sense at all, he'd RUN to Indianapolis from LA if SA asked him to join fulltime. It's what a real musician would do.

Newstedt in GNR would be something!
he's a good bassist & musician, seems like a damn nice guy too.
he would be a nice replacement if Stinson went for SA fulltime, but Im more than happy with the General on the 4-strings if he stays!

Both..

He have said it in some interviews that he is a "fan" of the new GN'R too, I will try to find the interviews later.

When I wrote "fan" I mean that he have heard some of the new tunes..

I'm gunning for GNR @ Monsters of Rock June 03 2005 (Milton Keynes Bowl). Would be perfect, especially if they played RIR a couple of days before...

:hihi: That cracked me up Mike.

When people cite other musicians as fans of GnR, to often they take that as meaning their automatically fans of this new incarnation as well.

Didn't Axl turn down the offer to play Monsters of Rock back in 1987?

Why not do T in the Park? The UK's best festival hands down.
