Title: VR played surprise show in Las Vegas!
Post by: anythinggoes on December 08, 2005, 04:32:30 AM
VR played an unannounced show last night in Las Vegas. The band performed a 11-song set at Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where Maxim held a Billboard Music Awards afterparty. Earlier that night, the band presented an award to Mariah Carey during the ceremony. Here's the set list for the gig, thanks to Panhead: Sucker Train Blues, Do it for the Kids, Headspace, Superhuman, Fall To Pieces, Dirty Little Thing, It's So Easy, Sex Type Thing, Set Me Free, Wish You Were Here, Slither.

Cool to see them play a surprise show, but damn, Slash looks really bad in those photos, he looks like he's gained 20 kilos! :nervous:

I know, and he looked in shape on Nov. 17 at the UK music awards.  I don't get it.  And it looks like the whole show he kept his jacket and top hat on.  weird.

Why does everyone, immediately, have to judge what Slash or Scott looked like?  It's always Slash looked fat or drunk or depressed.   Scott looked strung out, high, too skinny, unhealthy, blah, blah.  I thought Slash, from the pictures, looked fine.

Because its fucking odd that slash was plump, then lost weight as they toured. Then gained weight. It's not in good health. Thats why I was curious. So mind your fucking business.

I think he looks fat everytime he wears a jacket. And those sunglasses are not the best for him.

I saw scott give the award at big in o5 to greenday, the man looked sharp, excellent dresser, even his beard looked cool... The man has done wonders with himself.. As for slash I saw him playing with hendrix's guys at the uk awards and he looked good.. The man drinks a lot, I'm sure he is pounding away with the free time and not sweating since he isn't touring.. Drinking makes you bloated, pretty simple

Anyways glad they are out playing

Only Dave (and a few other Axl fanatics on the board) would have absolute glee to see Slash looking this bad. While I and many fans respect Axl Rose immensely and had a rough time enjoying him in his first comeback and wish him well in his recovery from seclusion and being tended to by a South American nanny, fans like these do not lament when the ex-members have a little trouble, rather they mock them whole-heartedly.

Slash looks a bit down right now, but he's come so far from the 2000 Snakepit Tour to get back into shape to work his magic with VR. I saw him in May 2005 at PNC and it was as if GNR never ended - he literally had the magic of the old GNR on his shoulders as he and Duff performed with a verocity that rivalled their glorious pasts.

Slash does look great considering that his diet has composed of booze and drugs over the last 25 years, while Axl looks worse (certainly not the same or better since 1987) despite a diet thats healthy and a vigorous exercise program. I wish Axl would look as good relative to how Slash looked until these recent photo shots.

What is weird is that Slash looked great like two weeks ago at the UK Hall Of Fame awards..... He does look rough in that photo but whatever, I ain't banging him. I just wanna hear him rip on the guitar... He actually looks sick if you ask me. The way he keeps bloating up and shit.. It might be time for Slash to lay off the guiness once and for all... I would like to have him around playing guitar for as long ass possible...

Tomass, that is exactly how I feel.  I mean at the UK awards, he looked like 1992 Slash.  He was inshape and blazing!  The best he has been in a long time live!  And then those pics and then a no show.  Someone needs to pull the reins back in on Slash.  Gosh, and we all thought it would be Weiland that we would worry about.  But, when it comes time to record, Slash will straighten up and get good.  He is in a down time music wise while waiting for the new album.  Historically this is the dangerous time for Slash.

Hey, don't act like an asshole.

Her point is "who cares". Is it really that important?

Lighting, the way the picture was taking, posture etc all have an effect on the image anyway.

Look how much you guys have talked about what happened vs what they "looked like"  in this thread already.

ever hear of bad camera angle? Slash is in the best shape in years. You don't go from looking great to terrible in 2weeks! I have a ton of VR pics where he looks like that because of his positioning and the angle of the camera
