It would be a good idea.
-they could work on the new songs, in preparation for the upcoming European leg
-it would generate a buzz, like the one coming out of Hollywood in 86/87, when rock bands would go out and play impromptu shows all the time. ?It might also attract other bands to the scene--a great, creative atmosphere!!

Hope it's true, but doubt it.

From what I can recall, The Plumm is not very big at all. ?Like not enough to fit a full band setup in. ?It's like a swank little dj dance setup. ? I don't think this is happening.

Yeah I know, but dave is trying to keep people here informed about something that could be legit. I dont see why newer members have to antagonize someone that is well known in these communities. Dave isnt going to just pull something out of a hat for shits and giggles.

I think GnR should become a NYC band.....just move the operation to NYC!!! forget LA, its old and done. the band has a very "new york feel" to it! we love gnr here, and axl n co. love it here!

For all we know, it could be Axl and Finck/Fortus/Izzy/Bfoot (take your pick) just playing a couple of acoustic songs, like West Arkeen and Axl did back in the day in Hollywood... Time will tell.

I get to quote myself now because apparently they indeed played mostly acoustic stuff including Used to Love Her and You're Crazy, as posted by the guy at the GN'R Bar with the friend who was there.

If it did, that is fucking awesome though.

I wonder if Izzy had anything to do with it if it really happened and was acoustic....

Why do you say that? GNR have always done something acoustic. Since "Round 2" is once again revolving around the past, I dont see why you would be shocked by them doing something that GNR have done before.

Sure they weren't just having a few cocktails and wanted to pull a fast one on all of us? I mean I don't know these guys who are claiming this show happened.. do any of you really know them that good? I mean it's tough for me to see Axl and the new guys doing an acoustic set. But, he's been out on the town and in damn good spirits, so I guess anything is possible.

Acoustic mostly..I can't divulge certain details, Matt (Roadcrew) just phoned..He is on his way home from the surprise show..

Anyway, I will only tell you that they opened with Used To Love Her, and played You're Crazy (which they learned 20 minutes prior)..

Matt will post what he can to Boerio's list and then someone will cut and paste it here probably..

What a great story and a great show to be at..

Incredible, I want to believe this, but is almost impossible in my opinion...

I really don't see what's so improbable about it. I mean, they just finished playing four live shows in NYC. They have at least five more shows to do this year until they've filled their live concert quota for the next 4 years. ?:hihi:

Agreed.? :)? This is very typical GNR.? I can really see Axl wanting to do this with the new band.? Might be a hint of what's to come for part of the London club show, too.

They have at least five more shows to do this year until they've filled their live concert quota for the next 4 years.? :hihi:

Hehe, nah, this time I feel they'll go through with the shows they have scheduled. I know they will, cuz I had a ticket to see them and now I can't go, and that would be my luck  :'(
The last time I had tickets to see 'em Axl didn't even know he had a tour scheduled.  :o

If they did perform tonight - It may be a way for the band to become tighter before heading across the pond - Axl seems to be happier than in 2002.

Anything is possible.

From Matt "Roadcrew" from DN'B's mailing list:

"Okay... I can't really tell you how I found out or how I got on the
list without betraying a friend's confidence, but I got a call around 6
p.m. that Rosario Dawson, the actress from RENT, ALEXANDER, etc., was
having a birthday party tonight at a small club near my apartment that
I'm told is called Plum (I feel like an idiot but I honestly have never
seen a name on the marquee and now I can't find a club called Plum on
citysearch.com, so I apologize if that's not right.) and that GN'R WERE
GOING TO PLAY. Some of my co-workers and I were able to get our names
on the list. I was told to keep my mouth shut b/c it was all supposed
to be a secret.

Anyways, I have been here once or twice before, and it's a pretty
small, chich nightclub. It has 2 floors and holds maybe 800, 900 people
tops - someone told me capacity is actually around 500 people, I don't
know how accurate that is and tonight, it was definately filled
wwwaaaayyyy beyond capacity. I don't mean to make light of a tragedy
but if God forbid there had been a ?fire, it would have been The
Station x10.

So doors are at 11 p.m. and we show up around 12:30 a.m. and... we're
told we can't go in. Allegedly Axl got into a fight with a club goer (I
can't verify this) and they subsequently shut down the doors. Of ther
dozen or so people I was with, all but my friend Ken split. It was at
that point that Ken had the brilliant idea that maybe now they would
let us in since there was just 2 of us. We pleaded with a bouncer who
verified that we were actually on the list and - yes! - we were in.

Like I said, the place was packed, but we managed to find another good
friend who had a table up front near the stage. The joint was crawling
with celebrities: Kid Rock, Mickey Rourke, Eric Balfour, and God knows
who else. On the way up I heard buzz first that the original band was
there (which I knew was B.S.), and then buzz that it was just Axl and
Izzy and Matt Sorum (which seemed feasible in light of Axl's recently
making-nice with both former Gunners). I saw Dizzy wandering around
before we took our spot up front, maybe five or ten feet from where the
band was and right next to Del James.

The band finally came a little after 1 a.m. I think. The stage was
incredibly small and everyone surged forward to the point where tables
were knocked over; my legs and feet are currently soaked in champagne
and God knows what else. Anyway, Izzy and Matt were NOT there (or if
they were, they didn't play), and if Brain was there, I didn't see him,
either.

But Axl, Robin, Richard, Tommy, Bumblefoot, Dizzy and Chris all took
the stage. Everyone played acoustically except Robin, who played a
semi-hollow Gibson, and Tommy, who played his usual bass; for KOHD,
Robin and Richard switched instruments. Chris and Dizzy played maracas,
congos, tambourines, and occasionally the keyboard, which was crammed
in the corner. Axl introduced the show as the "karaoke version" of GN'R
as a movie screen-sized monitor with all his lyrics was behind him
(BTW, I don't know about everyone else, but all this time I've thought
the lyric is I.R.S. was "All the legions," but it's actually "All the
reasons that you give, I'll follow you.") . Everyone seemed to be in a
great mood; they played some old tunes from LIES that they haven't done
since Slash was in the band, and Axl said they had learned the songs
just 20 minutes before arriving at the club. Before I.R.S., Axl asked
the band if they felt like trying it even though they hadn't rehearsed
it, and Tommy screamed out "I'm fucking fearless, I'll try anything!"
November Rain, for which only Robin did an electric solo, sounded
better than it did at the Hammerstein shows; Richard and especially
Bubmlefoot's acoustic solos just sounded astounding.

Needless to say, the whole place went apeshit... it was a really
intimate, really amazing show and a nice way to close out the week
after the 4 Hammerstein gigs. I don't remember the precise order of the
set list but here is what they played:

USED TO LOVE HER
MR. BROWNSTONE
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE
YOU'RE CRAZY (LIES version, not the APPETITE version)
PATIENCE
KNOCKIN' ON HEAVEN'S DOOR
THE BLUES
I.R.S.
SWEET CHILD O' MINE
NOVEMBER RAIN (Axl on keyboard)
PARADISE CITY

I don't think I missed any songs; the whole show lasted a little over
an hour, maybe. At the end Axl came back out and said "I forgot to do
something b/c I'm a fucking idiot" before bringing Rosario Dawson out
on stage and leading the audience in a rendition of "Happy Birthday."
The Rosario grabbed the mike and went nuts - "THEY'VE NEVER PLAYED ALL
ACOUSTIC, THIS IS HISTORY IN THE MAKING, HOW MUCH DOES THIS MAN FUCKING
ROCK," etc.

Okay. I have work in the morning so I'm going to bed. If I forgot
anything I'll type more later...

With the exception of I.R.S. and NR, I've played all those songs on an acoustic guitar... It's definitely doable, and probably sounded FUCKING AWESOME! We need this show.

Will, you gotta have faith, man. We need to hear The Blues and IRS as acoustic versions.

You think that the world is what it is, then something like this happens and everything you thought was known and predictable has been shattered.

Dammit. Ive been a good citizen all year but nearly everyone I know forgets my birthday. Rosario Dawson does that god awful movie of Rent and gets GnR for hers.

Go figure

j/k OMG if its true.

Rent and Alexander were two stinkers to put on a resume.

THis....this right here is what I would give up the rehersals for. ? ?Give me a quality recording, I will leak the rehersals

Worth more then the rehersals? ?Yes, however, it depends on how many people get their hands on it. ?Also, the quality is in question as well

Also...are you saying that this one shouldn't be leaked, and should be kept for a trade that may be worth it....lets say....the Vegas shows? ?If that was the case then you all wouldn't be getting the rehersals, Vegas, or this accoustic thing.

Dude with the 2006 shows, do you really think that many people give a fuck about this now ?: ok:

Yes people would like to see it but with all these new shows it just becomes less and less needed.

Very true.

velvet: No one talked about hoarding. This one (if it exists) shouldn't be hoarded but we're not the ones deciding it. If someone like dankrass recorded it, it would be out, but I highly doubt it was recorded at all.

Some pics would be nice, yeah.

Bingo!! You just hit the nail on the head. These hoarders think what they have remains priceless forever. Its only valuable when GNR aren't doing anything. Now that the ball is rolling, most shit from the past(especially something as minor as rehearsals) pretty much becomes worthless.

GUNS N' ROSES Play Surprise Acoustic Gig In New York City - May 19, 2006

A BLABBERMOUTH.NET visitor by the name of Matt Goldenberg has submitted the following report:

"Okay... I can't really tell you how I found out or how I got on the list without betraying a friend's confidence, but I got a call around 6 p.m. [on Thursday, May 18] that Rosario Dawson, the actress from 'Rent', 'Alexander', etc., was having a birthday party tonight at a small club near my apartment [in New York City] that I'm told is called Plum (I feel like an idiot but I honestly have never seen a name on the marquee and now I can't find a club called Plum on CitySearch.com, so I apologize if that's not right) and that GUNS N' ROSES WERE GOING TO PLAY. Some of my co-workers and I were able to get our names on the list. I was told to keep my mouth shut because it was all supposed to be a secret.

"Anyways, I have been here once or twice before, and it's a pretty small, chic nightclub. It has two floors and holds maybe 800, 900 people tops ? someone told me capacity is actually around 500 people, I don't know how accurate that is and tonight, it was definately filled wwwaaaayyyy beyond capacity. I don't mean to make light of a tragedy but if God forbid there had been a fire, it would have been The Station x10.

"So doors are at 11 p.m. and we show up around 12:30 a.m. and... we're told we can't go in. Allegedly Axl [Rose, GUNS N' ROSES frontman] got into a fight with a clubgoer (I can't verify this) and they subsequently shut down the doors. Of the dozen or so people I was with, all but my friend Ken split. It was at that point that Ken had the brilliant idea that maybe now they would let us in since there was just two of us. We pleaded with a bouncer who verified that we were actually on the list and ? yes! ? we were in.

"Like I said, the place was packed, but we managed to find another good friend who had a table up front near the stage. The joint was crawling with celebrities: Kid Rock, Mickey Rourke, Eric Balfour, and God knows who else. On the way up I heard buzz first that the original band was there (which I knew was B.S.), and then buzz that it was just Axl and Izzy [Stradlin] and Matt Sorum (which seemed feasible in light of Axl's recently making-nice with both former Gunners). I saw Dizzy [Reed, GNR keyboardist] wandering around before we took our spot upfront, maybe five or ten feet from where the band was and right next to Del James [Axl's longtime friend/assistant].

"The band finally came a little after 1 a.m. I think. The stage was incredibly small and everyone surged forward to the point where tables were knocked over; my legs and feet are currently soaked in champagne and God knows what else. Anyway, Izzy and Matt were NOT there (or if they were, they didn't play), and if Brain [drummer] was there, I didn't see him, either.

"But Axl, Robin [Finck], Richard [Fortus], Tommy [Stinson], Bumblefoot, Dizzy and Chris [Pittman] all took the stage. Everyone played acoustically except Robinwho played a semi-hollow Gibson, and Tommy, who played his usual bass; for 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door', Robin and Richard switched instruments. Chris and Dizzy played maracas, congos, tambourines, and occasionally the keyboard, which was crammed in the corner. Axl introduced the show as the 'karaoke version' of GN'R as a movie screen-sized monitor with all his lyrics was behind him.

"Everyone seemed to be in a great mood; they played some old tunes from 'Lies' that they haven't done since Slash was in the band, and Axl said they had learned the songs just 20 minutes before arriving at the club.

"Before 'I.R.S.', Axl asked the band if they felt like trying it even though they hadn't rehearsed it, and Tommy screamed out 'I'm fucking fearless, I'll try anything!' The three solos in 'November Rain' were handled as they have been (Richard Fortus does the first one, Robin Finck does the second one, and Bumblefoot does the big closing one) except that Richard and Bumblefoot played their solos acoustically, which sounded pretty awesome.

"Needless to say, the whole place went apeshit... it was a really intimate, really amazing show and a nice way to close out the week after the four Hammerstein gigs. I don't remember the precise order of the set list but here is what they played:

01. Used To Love Her
02. Mr. Brownstone
03. Welcome To The Jungle
04. You're Crazy ('Lies' version, not the 'Appetite' version)
05. Patience
06. Knockin' On Heaven's Door
07. The Blues
08. I.R.S.
09. Sweet Child O' Mine
10. November Rain (Axl on keyboards)
11. Paradise City

"I don't think I missed any songs; the whole show lasted a little over an hour, maybe. At the end, Axl came back out and said, 'I forgot to do something because I'm a fucking idiot,' before bringing Rosario Dawson out on stage and leading the audience in a rendition of 'Happy Birthday.' Then Rosario grabbed the mike and went nuts ? 'THEY'VE NEVER PLAYED ALL ACOUSTIC, THIS IS HISTORY IN THE MAKING, HOW MUCH DOES THIS MAN FUCKING ROCK,' etc."

(Thanks: Matt Goldenberg)

Wow! GN'R are back and playing it very smart!

Seriously guys, these guys are a band big time. Just listen to how well they connect and blend in NY like when they just started jamming and Axl singing along before one of the songs with no rehearsal whatsoever. And then just sitting down and doing these songs accoustic with little practise and just trying the songs as they go. I remember the old line up used to say how cool it was and the buzz then they just try things and manage to pull them off, this line up is just the same!

These guys really are an awesome band!

And on another note, it's a shame the discussion immediately turns to trading for hoarded stuff etc after all this time. I wish people would just grow up and realise that GN'R won't be around forever and nor will we.. and just share!  : ok:

I really understand now how Axl says how the 2002 shows were really good for the band (maybe not Bucket ?:hihi: ) .. man compared to what we have just heard and seen over the last week, the 2002 don't come close in comparison to the bond this band has!

He makes them himself. That's what took all the years. ChinDem ist ready since 1999, but the shirts still had to be made.  :hihi:

This is so fucking cool! You need to know, I was a fan when I was a teenager ("Ohh it was the best time I can remember") but then, as you know, GNR kind of disappeard and so I didn't really care anymore (it's a shame :nervous:).
In the end of 2005 ?I bought the Tokyo YUI-I dvd from a friend and BOOM I was back in the 90ies! I bought part II and started listening to the records again. Finally I wanted to know what's goong on with Axl and the others... Here I am, and I'm so glad how things are evolving and that I did not miss toooo much. Thanks to Jarmo and You folks!
I am biting mine and my mothers ass, because I had a ticket in 93 for a show in Frankfurt/Germany, but she did not allow me to go there, because I was too young for a rock concert :crying:.
Maybe there'll be another chance.

And this was a Celebrity Bash, unless Lenny Kravitz was recording it we are not going to get this one  :hihi:

Now we're talking. ?It seems that maybe Axl does understand what is needed to make it in today's music scene. ?Obviously he wasn't lying when he said he just felt pressured to play in 2002. ?His approach then showed that he wasn't ready.

This is the best thing I can remember reading about on this site......ever basically. ?Good work GNR.

This is unbelievable.

Now wet your pants imagining the thinks that we are going to see in the next future once the Chinesse Democaracy CD is released. It's like being part of the history of the rock. Again. After all that MTV hip hop Rnb shit music that killed the rock music, Im getting excited again. And its happening again because of the same dude: AXL.

Axl does not rocks.

AXL is the motherfucking rock himself.

Im happy

Man, I wish I could get hold of all the people who talked shit about "not being a real band", "hired guns", "they'll never come back", "it's too late for them now", "Axl's an asshole", "Axl doesn't care", "Axl's fat/can't sing anymore", "CD will never come out" an say...

Take 4 badass NY shows, take guest appearances from Izzy, Baz, Kid Rock, take the impromptu acoustic show, take the european tour, take the confirmed US date, take the kindness of giving fans from the boards first chance at tickets, take confirmation that CD will come out this year, and choke on your words!

The true fans have been here for the duration, and we are getting our reward. I always believed in this band, and this year will be the biggest "I told you so" in the history of ever! ?:peace:

These kind of experiences are very important for the band: Hangin? out having fun, basically seeing each other in an other context then just the stage in front of a huge crowd. It will help them to appreciate each other more, create a firmer base to be able to tackle the hurdles that will appear on their path. Glad to see them having fun.

I love the guy, and I'm really with you - but until ChinDem hits the shelves, it's all pretty much worthless. As long as there is no album, the casual listerners won't be persuaded - and I understand that.

From the moment on that ChinDem is released - FROM then starts the New Era.

I feel stupid for asking this, but I honestly don't know. The pictures from the show that were posted a few pages back, who is the guy with the red knit cap and long hair?? Is that Bumblefoot?? I did a Google search of him after the first show, but he looked different in every pic. Sometimes he was cool looking with long hair and stuff, and in some he looked like a total dork. If that's him in the pics, though, I don't see why people made fun of his look. He looks like a rocker to me. Although, with my luck, it'll turn out to be Fortus instead.

Never seen the lyrics of the songs on a "big screen" before like they did here.

Maybe it was for people to join in for sing-a-longs?
Anyways, I hope we'll get some more in depth reviews of the show, and of course some audio or video.

I'm still recovering from last night... I'm so lucky to have met some of the amazing people that work behind-the-scenes in this band. They're the nicest, coolest people and I'm really forever grateful to some of them for making last night the greatest night of my life. It makes spending my savings account on tickets for 4 shows, waiting in line for hours and hours to get a front row spot each night, and waiting even more hours by the stage door afterwards more than worth it.
I'm not going to talk much about last night - just that I was able to hang out in the band's private room at the club, was very sweetly introduced to Axl, ended up dancing with him at one point, saw the greatest acoustic performance known to man, and had more fun than I thought was physically possible.
I've been going through some tough stuff in my personal life lately but this past week has truly brought me more happiness than I can possibly express in words. ?I'm so grateful and so humbled by this whole experience.
Dreams can come true, guys. All you need is a little patience. ?;)

No, I don't know the first single... no, I didn't bootleg it - didn't even take any pictures.
IRS sounded great, the lyrics were different on the screen so he warned everyone about singing along.
It was just a fun time. The band looked like they were having a blast. Axl was all smiles. It was a great set. Much thanks to the sound mixer for letting me stand on the ledge there so I could see. ?:)

so basically GNR played 5 shows in 7 days and rocked out every show.  No fucking way the hype was this big in 01 and 02, and the performances certaintly werent as good.  GNR might be back for a while, I cant wait for the NA tour hopefully in the fall.  These 5 shows left the hates eating their words.  I can't recall the last time people were like "all I heard was how awesome the shows are" blah blah blah....  I can see the DVD title right now Guns n' Roses Live at Hammerstein.  Im still pumped from the shows earlier this week !!!

I hardly ever watch tv anymore, but a relative told me how the NY shows were even getting coverage on CNN. Not breaking news or anything, but there were a few segments, and GNR info scrolled at the bottom of the screen ocassionally.

I am so happy for you Jenna ! Being so petite I was terrified of being on the floor, I would have been crushed In Vegas if this big guy hadn't protected me. And I was too shy to hang out at the stage door! I know how you feel though, I will always cherish my memory of meeting Buckethead at the Starbuck's in Las Vegas when he had his friend chase me down the hall to give Axl my gift!

oldies! I vaguely remember hearing Aretha Franklin... Honestly, it's kind of a blur, he was there for a couple songs.... I remember there was a really small group of us dancing, maybe 5 people, and suddenly he was in the middle of the group, he was dancing with some other people and then somehow the group kinda split apart and he ended up in front of me and we were dancing for a while.
Surreal doesn't even begin to explain it. The man can sure move! ;D? Afterwards I was standing around grinning like an idiot and someone came over and said "You looked like you were having fun dancing with Axl" and I was like "Say that again a couple times... I just love the way it sounds!" :hihi:

That suits him much better than the 50 cent look he had on the 2002 tour.

GNR might be back for a while, I cant wait for the NA tour hopefully in the fall.? These 5 shows left the hates eating their words.? I can't recall the last time people were like "all I heard was how awesome the shows are" blah blah blah....? I can see the DVD title right now Guns n' Roses Live at Hammerstein.? Im still pumped from the shows earlier this week !!!

totally agree with you. this time around gn'r wil fucking rock. i'm trying to bury 2002 in the back of my head  :P it was a depressing year for gnr fans.

Alright, I think it had to do with Kid Rock coming out. They started 'Nightrain' and it sounded great, then Axl said "Stop it! Stop it!" and they stopped, Robin took his guitar off (I think he had the wrong one on). But I thought "Oh fuck!" Then Axl said something like "Now you can see we're Guns N' Roses" and Tommy (I think) said "Yeah, this ain't no Britney Spears bullshit!", but I didn't hear a mistake. So they started again, played the intro, sang the "Loaded like a freight train. etc.) part, Axl said "One more time!", they sang it again, then he said "Ladies and gentlemen, Kid Rock!", so I think it was a joke or something. I dunno.

To fully appreciate this story you need to understand that I am a rather naive person and THE ABSOLUTE ANTITHESIS OF A GROUPIE! 4 ?years ago I attended the GNR concert at the Joint In Las Vegas. In the past i have met alot of theater actors after the show to get their autograph and I had never attnded a concert of a serious rock group like GNR. Anyway I have been in love with Axl ever since I saw the November Rain video. I brought a spritually themed gift to give to Axl that basically said that he was the BEeethoven of Rock music. I approached a few people about giving the gift to him and they all refused. One of them, the band photographer Robert John was so mean to me that I almost burst into tears. I even said, "I'm not some bimbo that just wants to sleep with him" Anyway I was able to be up in front right in front of Buckethead. I noticed that Buckethead was looking at me through the mask. I also made the mistake of asking one of the roadies about the gift because he was mean too. I had a great time at the concert and at the end I think I met one of the mangers possibly Doug Goldstein, he was very nice ?but said that he didn't think that he could give Axl a wrapped gift. He told me to wait a minute but then Robert John came back and yelled at me again and I left. The next day I was eating breakfast and when I left the restaurant I saw Robert John, and I was afraid that he was going to yell at me again. I was fighting back the tears and I started to run down the hall to get away from him. ?I ran past Starbuck's and this cute guy in the window smiled at me. A few seconds later a girl came chasing after me and she said, "EXCUSE ME, YOU WERE THE ONE WITH THE PRESENT FOR AXL, YOU WERE STANDING IN THE FRONT ROW. I'M FRIENDS WITH SOMEONE IN THE BAND AND HE WILL GIVE IT TO HIM'. I thanked the cute guy and said that I had to get it out of my luggage. I came back and handed the gift to him and I said "THANKYOU, WHICH GUY ARE YOU?" And he said "I"M BUCKETHEAD". I asked him why he wore the mask and he said that he was just shy. I asked when the albumn was coing out and he said, "I DON"T KNOW, I'M TAKING THINGS ONE DAY AT A TIME.I then asked if I could give him a hug and he let me. I will never forgive myself for saying, "YOU ARE JUST AS GOOD AS SLASH!" I know that it was him because I have seen pictures of him on the internet and i wrote to him and he wrote back When I go to his solo shows in Chicago he always hands me a toy and he holds onto it until I get it, even when people are trying to tackle me for it. I once asked a psychic how he knew about the gift, ?and she said that he was friends with the roadie who told  him that" THAT STUPID BITCH WANTED ME TO GIVE A PRESENT TO AXL FOR HER". I will be eternally grateful to Buckethead for his kindness and will always remain his fan.

Uh...jealousy? Its obvious going by these demos that BH was kicking the most ass in the studio. He is the highlight on each song he plays on. Tommy's contributions on what we have heard so far are pretty much irrelevant.

They aren't making any covers of Megadeth's "Peace Sells". Bass isn't featured prominently. But without Tommy nobody here would know about Buckethead because this band never would've done ANYTHING.

How come? For example, Robin wrote "Better". To say Buckethead is the highlight of the song because of the few "special effects" he adds is a bit too much. Same for Blues (Robin lead), Chinese Democracy (Robin lead), IRS (Robin lead with one BH solo) and TWAT (same as IRS).

Where were you during the leak craze raving on Finck? Bh got the most positive response on these demos. Not Robin. I'm not saying Robin sucks on the songs, but its a fact that BH was the highlight. Everyone but Nesquick said it time after time in thread after thread. Where's the rave on Stinson's contributions thread? During the past few months, NOBODY ever mentioned the quality of what he did. Finck got some kudos(deservedly), but you cant deny the impact of BH. I know alot of you BH haters like to try, but its an impossible mission.

During the leaks I was here as always, and I was happy not only with Robin's work but with the whole band (and Brian May :)).

I'm not a Buckethead hater, in fact I love him and I'm sad he decided to quit Guns N' Roses. However, if you check who's playing what you'll see it's Robin that plays lead most of the time on the new songs, not Bucket. I assume you've downloaded the 100MB video from Friday night?

At what point did I say BH plays all the lead?? I would like you to dig up a post where I said that. The fact that he isn't playing "most of the lead" but is being raved on more than anyone else in the band only proves my point even further. you can rave on Finck all you want. But trying to belittle BH's contributions to raise up Finck's is ridiculous. Just go climb Mount Everest. It will be a much easier task than trying to take BH down a level.

We are way off topic. If you want to continue this debate, go create a thread dealing with each member's contributions to CD. : ok:

I guess I just haven't been reading the same forums as you when you say Buckethead has been getting the most praise, specially considering most people love the new songs and Robin is responsible for most of the guitar work on them. It's simple logic from this point...

Oh, you can take up on your offer to continue this elsewhere if you want.

Go read the all the threads in this section in the 2 months since the leaks happened. Do your own personal Finck BH poll. Tally the votes. BH wins by a Mt. Everest sized landslide.

Step away from your Finck poster for a minute. Claiming Finck did "most of the guitar work" is ludicrous. There have been 4 guitarists in GNR over the past 6 years. You are in fantasy land if you think BH, Huge, and Fortus did nothing while Finck did "most".

I'm just saying, as a lead guitarist it's easier to be better "recognized" than a bassist, and these songs just haven't featured bass much, probably through no fault of Tommy's. I saw a show in 2002 and Buckethead blew me away with his playing, but I'm going to take the side of the band in the whole "GNR vs. Buckethead" discussion.

Well I guess Tommy doesn't really hate BH but he hates the fact he left like that.
You'd be bitter if your QB quit right before an important game.

And surely robin has a great talent for song writing.

i talk to this girl on AIM and she's really cool, she really deserved this amazing experienced and her signature is right, she really is the luckiest girl alive

I came across these pictures of Miss Dawson today.  I gotta admit before Guns played her party I had no idea who she was, but she's pretty nice looking.

I found this pic from Rosario Dawson's party of Kat Mack with Dyan O'Connor.  I wonder which girl Axl was dating that night  ;)

I was just kidding when I said that about which one... But if the Hilfiger fight was really over Dyan O'Connor, it would make sense that he was still seeing her at the time, and she's the one in the middle.
